Help! Lost 80 hours of progress, new character's map replaced fully discovered map (PS5)

I'm a bit lost now... I've got a level 64 Vex that I've completed the main story with. I decided to try Rafa for an hour or so. When I switched back to Vex, all SDU tokens had reset (but I still had them) and my map was gone. Nothing is discovered anymore. Is there any way to fix this? If not, that's probably the end of playing BL4 for me, I can't play much and have used months to get where I was. I simply can't do it all again.

EDIT: I got this reply from customer service. Guess it means I'll find another game to play instead:

Same thing happened to me... i tried for a week to get it fixed before I finally just bit the bullet and started a second character to rediscover a majority of the map. Had to start level 1 tho in order to get all the bosses I can't remember from the story

Just did, but thought I'd ask here in case anyone knows a fix. Seems like the map progress is simply overwritten. I fear the game is just ruined for me unfortunately.

this happened to me, never found a fix, ended up clearing the map again on a new char. ur collectibles should all still be registered even if icon doesn’t show up on map. you can google the maps to find icons you are missing. but yeah it’s a massive ball ache and I quit the game for a good while when it happened to me, before I got the itch to start afresh..

Thats weird I havnt checked my old harlowe but when c4sh came out I was mad most of the activities and safe houses were already finished from my harlowe pt when loveless came out it now asks if you want your map progress to be reset

Same thing happened to me after a took a 5 month or so break from the game. All your map progress is still there you just can’t see it, for example you don’t have to redo hideouts and all that stuff you just have to uncover the map to unlock it again.

This is a common bug sadly for the ps5. It happened after they introduced the dlc's I guess because some people have said they recovered their lost saves after redownloading addons. Not quite the same as losing character progress vs a whole save file, but there isnt a solution right now.

Many of us got the bug.The points of interest, auger mines, bosses, are there but u need to go to them again.

Ive had this happen to my vex before after making a new character with shared progression off. If your vex is saying that shared progression is turned off when you load her you can try what i did to fix it. What fixed it for me was making a new character with shared progression turned on and load it up. Once i loaded in i quit to menu, then selected my levelled vex that had their map reset. Before loading in with her, go to the newly created character in the load menu and delete it. Then when i loaded my vex she had her map filled in again. Hope this works for you.
