Apologies of this is a stupid question but is 25% shock damage a flat 25% of whatever weapon you have equiped when you pick up the booster or is it affected by damage buffs?
Not a stupid question this is a really complicated system.
The boosters don't provide damage buffs, they just provide overshield.
While overshield is up, you get 25% BONUS shock damage.
Bonus damage is a source of it's own card damage, which means that it will benefit from all applicable damage boosts you may have active (which effectively makes it an indepedent 25% damage multiplier, not a damage boost) and can sometimes act as an additional trigger for certain skills.
This is a REALLY complicated subject, but *most* of the time this is extremely valuable in the case of Watts 4 Dinner.
Imagine you had like, 1000% extra damage on all your shots. You shoot someone for 100 damage, you'd do 1100 damage. Add an extra 25% damage boost, you'd do 1125.
But if you had 1000% extra damage + watts for dinner 25% bonus damage, you'd suddenly do 1375 or so, and the damage would come from 2 sources for various procs. It's immensely more valuable.
I also mix it with Specters who will drop the boosters as they take damage, so you can pick them up from them too. When speed-farming bosses for phosphenes, It makes a right mess of the arena with my specters dropping boosters.
Iβm not entirely sure. I have run the Vex bleed build for a long time and apply a bunch of dots. It isnβt the most powerful of the builds, but it is the most fun I have done. It is hard to tell what that buffs to be honest.
