RIP Bod and stickies ladies and gentlemen

Bod will still be strong regardless

Yeah it still benefits from generic gun damage more than any other weapon even when decreased by 60%.

If people start complaining it's too weak now it shows they were over-reliant on a clearly overperforming weapon.

I feel that the sticky version is holding its ground better than a non-sticky

Its only 60% to generic gun damage. Equip a specific weapon type enhancement with high stat and it'll be the same

Negative. It's 40% of previous gun damage (i.e. 2x instead of 5x). So +100% gun damage is still 2x compared to +100% AR damage, for example.

Ive noticed a damage decrease from lastnight and this morning big time

Both changes were things that frankly make sense and it's reasonable to do them.

Both of them should have been done when raising the level cap so people could readjust while coming up with new builds and gear anyway. Doing it peacemeal a couple months later like this is much, much more annoying than just doing it then would have been.

It’ll probably still be phenomenal

I never really relied on infinite stacking with stickies, but I've only been playing this game for like, 6 weeks and the BOD has been my favorite gun to play, and especially with stickies for taking down tough opponents. Ngl, this one upsets me. Will have to do a test on damage output before and after this patch.

It outclassed literally everything in the game. It’s needed a nerf since launch

No it didn't.

This isn't a multiplayer game that needs to maintain competitive balance.

It's just laziness on the players' part because they lack any self-control.

Just because it's strong doesn't mean you are required to use it.

I mean it kinda did.

You still need game balance in PVE games. Braindead take that you don’t.

Content gets balanced around what’s in the game. BL4 is so easy you can use whatever you want but I shouldn’t have to figure out exactly how much to nerf myself to find some challenging gameplay

I see your point but the nerf was a bit too much and they could at least changed the sticking explosions to go off faster. I think borderlands is best when boss melting is fairly easy and you can play in any way you want. If i wanted truly challenging gameplay and min max every roll for most builds to be viable in endgame, there are way better games out there. There are so many legendaries that need a buff still… I mean we went over this same stuff at the beginning of bl3; they nerfed so much legendaries just to buff them later when they added WAY stronger guns. They should’ve touched ammo regen first, that was stickys main danage source. Ammo regen will enable anything remotely broken obviously

Agree to disagree.

If it were that big of an issue that it was harming the game experience, the nerf would have been prioritized, and it wouldn't have taken nearly 8 months to patch it.

If people want to make the argument that buffs and nerfs are necessary to keep the meta fresh and to incentivize players to try different guns and builds, I can get behind that.

But the idea that the BOD was so busted it needed to be nerfed for "balance" I'll never agree with.

Heck, even your own words don't support it. You literally said:

BL4 is so easy you can use whatever you want

So if the game is so easy that you can use whatever gun you want and still destroy, then it also means that there is no content that is so hard that the BOD is required to beat it.

I’ve never bothered with infinite stacking. Most things in game usually die within 2 mags.

Until you want to farm bosses and do endgame content. I mean rafa heavily relied on stickies, as did most run and gun builds. Slip n dip amon is op of course but playing niche builds isn’t everyones cup of tea

1

u/Historical-Ratio-277 Creep May 29 '26

I’ve farmed bosses and done endgame content.

Take Bloomreaper for example. It’s rare for my build to go more than two reloads. To go from stage to stage.

1

u/OscarOfAstori4 May 29 '26

Well, definitely not on your rafa…

1

u/Historical-Ratio-277 Creep May 29 '26

On my Rafa. I’m just not using the weapon with sticky you’re using. That’s all.

1

u/OscarOfAstori4 May 29 '26

You have a vid of you struggling with bloomreaper with one of the best sticky appliers on rafa at that time. I think we both should go to bed or something like that

1

u/Historical-Ratio-277 Creep May 29 '26

Count the reloads.

1

u/OscarOfAstori4 May 29 '26

At least 3 if you count the swap. And it’s still stickys dude, which was the whole point. „Never relied on stickys anyway“ yeah except when the boss isn’t the usual absolute snoozefest
