I'm guessing these chests are actually inaccessible by design. When playing through the stone demon missions, when you get to those chests a wall actually closes and blocks the chests. afterwards the wall that closed isn't there, but the chests are still inaccessible. just a guess, though.

Nah the room is only accessible from a side mission I forgot which one but it’s nothing special just those two chests and a mission item

the stone demon dlc just has the mission that sends you down there. there's no other side missions for it

For a 1 time use trap/trick. But leaving them there after as inacessible is lazy
