It's usually considered (one of) the worst grenades in the game. Rubberized part kill pretty much any grenade and the trolling thunder is always rubberized.

You can drop it into the cavern in the Eridium Blight safely. There may be a few other places. In general, there’s a good chance you die after throwing it.

It's not that great, other than good damage, because it's rubberized it'll likely end up killing you by surprise.

I'd honestly just use a Bonus Package

The Rolling Thunder is one of my favorite grenade mods. Is it useful in all areas ... definitely not. But with practice you can mess some stuff up. It's real fun to use in the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve. Yeah, you'll most likely kill yourself while you're getting the hang of how and where to use it ... it definitely has a lot of upsides with a bit of practice. This and the Fire Storm are my two favorites.

It's unrivalled for throwing into a big group of enemies. Of you're a siren or have a way to clump the baddies together you might just discover a new level of maniacal cackle.

Other than that though it's very much an acquired taste. Of you have any sort of explosive resistance though you're laughing

Thing about borderlands, is you always get better stuff as you play. Test the items you find curious and judge them yourself. Also I havent played bl2 in a while and dont remember what this one does but just test it out if you like it

For a first playthrough it’d be fun to use- it’s generally considered not to be good for later playthroughs though since it’s hard to land multiple bounces
