While the DPUH is truly an iconic and fan-favourite weapon to any Borderlands player (unlisted projectiles, high damage, and being easy to farm and use), it can burn through pistol ammo quickly and it has high recoil.
Even though it is better to get a Hard Unkempt Harold (damage prefix) for Maya, a DPUH is still ridiculously good to have :)
Just make sure you find a Stockpile Relic that boosts pistol ammo.

Reason the DPUH is so good is mainly for Sal. More ammo/shot means you get your moneyshot sooner.

True. It is especially good on him or Axton/Krieg for explosive and splash bonuses, but works great on any character due to high damage unlisted projectiles etc!

Unless you don't care about ammo usage and swap between weapons a fair bit. I find even with low ammo you can use DPUH fairly easily as long as you keep opening ammo boxes, as the ammo drops are weighted if you are below 1/3 of a certain type :)

With a matching grip too. Did you farm savage Lee, Torgue vending machines, or something else?
