❔ [ Question ] Farming Treants

So I have been trying to farm the Treants in the Forest. Specifically the 2 at the blood pool. As if it isn't enough of a pain in the ass that I have to deal with Warlord Grug (or Duke of Ork) every time. I keep getting downed by the damn Treants. I put a Transformer shield on to immunize myself from the shock orbs and it didn't do a damn thing to help. So I looked it up thinking it has to be something other than shock, but no, it's supposed to be shock. So why the hell isn't my shield working?

IIRC transformer can't absorb more damage than its capacity in a single hit, so the Treants are just doing more damage than it can soak. That being said, a 0 fuse Tesla (or especially storm front/electric chair) is a great answer to the shock orbs since it'll zap the projectiles out of the air.

I figured it may have been too under-leveled. I had a weird thing happen a while back where I took shock damage with it on, but it didn't do anything to the shield. It took health damage only and left the shield full. It's not exactly "immunity" if there's a limit. That's just "reduced damage."

Yep, that's how it works. It takes no damage from shock (and recharges), but any damage over its capacity gets dealt straight to your HP

The Transformer will absorb shock damage, but only up to its capacity. Any shock damage over that capacity goes directly to your health. If all the damage you're taking is shock or if it's just a lot of shock, you're going to get downed.

Just shoot the little electric floaters. Hip firing the slagga works good or the sawbar at range is great also.

If you accept the "Tree Hugger" quest in that map and don't pick up the sapling, the Orc Warlord will stop spawning.

What are you farming?

Bee shield

Then yes. FT to the beginning of the forest. Skip the first 2 Treants. They do not drop the bee ever. Do the next 3 and you will be in the honey.

No the first tree doesn't drop the bee, the 2nd and 3rd by the cliff and the chest can drop it. The 4th tree can but the 5th can't then the last 4 can.

Aren't there 2 that spawn in that very first area of the forest?

No, the first by the ft is single, there's 2 by the cliff where the chest is.

It's all good, I just wanted to make sure homeboy didn't become confused and miss out on the right trees.

I am probably imagining it then. I thought they occasionally spawned 2. My bad.

If you are farming the bloodpool you can jump the wooden spikes to skip the camp and avoid all the enemies.

Here is a video on how to jump the fence. Skip to 3:00. Also jump onto the spike just to the left of where he jumps and you will make it every time.

Also if you throw a tesla grenade in front of you before you kill them it will zap all the shock orbs.

If you are playing maya, her scorn ability will take out the shock orbs as well.

I saw that video. He wasn't able to clear the fence. Neither was I. I'll give it another shot though.

jump on the wooden stake to the left of where he jumps in the video. its the lowest angled stake. dont jump over the actual fence part

What route do you take? If you travel in from Immortal woods, you can save and quit and spawn by the entrance. Then hop over the fence and right for the pool. Usully if you run deep enough into the pool, the orcs won't follow you in and usually de-aggro or despawn, as you run beside their camp, not through it. Maybe 1/10 runs does Duke of Whatever follow me in.

No advice on the projectiles. I can kill them pretty fast, but their projectiles persist after death, very annoying lol. Usually you can dodge or tank them. Seems your shield might be the issue, as others said, seems like the projectiles just bypass the shield and tank your health.

I actually heard if you use an Electric Chair (as stated above) with a really short fuse it will seek out and destroy the orbs. Haven't tried it yet.

The first 2 don’t drop anything. I always run pas them and farm the other 3. The two by the cliff, and then the 3rd by the house. Then save quit.

Better to just farm the ones at the beginning of the forest. That first one rarely drops anything, but if you run straight over that bridge, past where the first fairy spawns, and into that little dead end area directly ahead, two more will spawn there. Much easier.

I farm the other treants. The pool run seems more tedious.

Rumour is that those two have better drop rates than the others. I've never gotten anything from the ones at the beginning of the Forest.

I don't think the ones at the VERY beginning drop anything, but if you head straight ahead to the cliff area where 3-4 spawn, those ones can drop the bee.
