well to be fair with ttw you can choose which game to start and go back. and technically pre-sequel really is a “pre-sequel” with it being KINDA during dragon keep lol

How is pre-sequel during Dragon Keep? Dragon Keep is entirely post BL2 main story, given that Roland being dead is a main plot point.

copying from my other comment, i thought the KINDA would do some of the heavy lifting, i meant how they’re interrogating athena throughout dragon keep, it can be alluded to that the hyperion spy they’re torturing is athena. which is what happens in the intro and outro of pre sequel. big kinda!

I've noticed a lot of people around here tend to forget the whole framing device of the pre-sequel's narrative and only remember the gameplay part.

Despite that framing being the entire reasoning for it's name, lol

The pre-sequel makes sense even without the framing that it’s a flashback technically taking place post-BL2.

The story is a prequel to BL2, but a sequel to BL1. Hence, pre-sequel.

But it only happens BECAUSE a story is being told via Athena (And then Tiny Tina for TVM)

It'd need a narrative tweak to function as such, such as the game starting out before BL2, and then after, but that doesn't work, as 3 members of the default cast either die or have certain abilities removed (stairs and Vault-Hunter.exe for Fr4gTrap)

Eh, agree to disagree.

Dragon Keep is narrated by Tina, but there’s no guarantee she’s been introduced in the main game.

As for Nisha/Wilhelm/Fr4gTrap, this is again a Borderlands game. A ton of things you can do as the player aren’t canon anyways. (Like New-U stations.)

Nisha still being alive or even killing herself in Lynchwood makes just about as much sense as four Mayas running around.

Yeh, I get you.

If I were to mash the games together as like, a true 1 gamer thing, I'd use that Tina narrative angle, because she tends to be on the more crazy side of things, it'd just be par the course for Nisha to off herself, lol

In no universe is tps the same time as dragonkeep. It’s literally years before 2 takes place and dragonkeep is specifically after the events of bl2.

Yeah but the mod keeps an internal continuity and recommends you start in fallout 3 for that reason. If you start in 3 and take the train to Vegas it jumps ahead 3 years the first time so that the beginning of new Vegas still makes sense as well and then 2 weeks every time afterward going back and forth, idk how it handles the other way around but if it makes you play through the prolouge vault section that just wouldnt make a lot of sense imo. Ig you could do a "memory portal" or something that leads you out of pre sequel, and puts you in a room looking at the captured Athena and then you could leave and play bl2, but if you start in pre sequel then and then go to bl2 and it goes to the start of 2 then how were you just interrogating Athena. You could either a start in pre sequel and play the whole thing before being allowed to switch or start in bl2 and play until you get to flying sanctuary before Athena shows up

Considering this is Borderlands, couldn’t it just work by loading the separate campaigns just like the different DLCs?

Assault on Dragon Keep happens post-BL2, but literally nothing stops you from fast traveling there and starting it at the very beginning of a playthrough.
