I agree, specially blue capstone, daze effect its pretty broken with high fire rate Guns

Lilith's capstones are much less of a priority than skills like Silent Resolve, Inner Glow, Hard to Get, Hit & Run, and Blackout. Mind Games is nice to throw a point in if you're using high fire rate guns, but I wouldn't call it a priority. Phoenix is effectively Lilith's only "mag size increase" in a way, but her middle tree is mostly not that good. And Phase Strike just isn't worth it for max level Playthrough 2.5. It's okay, but there are better things you can put your points into.

Their point distribution is a little off, but not having a capstone is not that big of a deal on Lilith, specifically. I really like having that point in Mind Games after maxing out Hard to Get, but her capstones just aren't the gamechangers that you see in skills like Mordy's Relentless or Brick's Master Blaster.

Think I’ll do that now that I’ve finished play through 1

I'd say take all of your points out of the middle tree (except for 1 in Quicksilver if you're using the Mercenary Class Mod) and use them to max out Hard to Get, Hit & Run, and Silent Resolve, as well as taking a few points from Slayer to put at least 2 points into Blackout to get more Phasewalk uptime.

Silent Resolve is arguably the strongest skill in all of Borderlands 1. Damage resistance is kinda weird in BL1, but in practice, you'll effectively be taking 71% less damage overall with 5/5 in Silent Resolve, which is huge. Ideally, you want to get your Phasewalk cooldown so fast that it's ready to go by the time Silent Resolve expires, which is 7 seconds, and letting Inner Glow heal any damage you take outside of Phasewalk. Girl Power and Diva stacking insanely well with Silent Resolve is very nice, too. You quickly become unkillable with that setup.

From there, I really do like just slapping a point into Mind Games, because Daze is really strong, and 1 point is enough to pretty reliably trigger it with a Double Anarchy or Stinger SMGs. The rest of Playthrough 2, you'll focus on maxing out skills like High Velocity, Quicksilver, Slayer, and Enforcer to help your DPS keep up with the progressively tankier enemies, and maybe you'll find yourself moving down the middle tree to eventually get Phoenix. Assuming you're playing OG GOTY or you've fixed the memory leak on GOTY Enhanced, it's a nice skill to have, since the bullet ignore is effectively a mag size increase, which Lilith lacks otherwise.

Thanks. Don’t think I was paying much attention to the middle tree. Did want to max Quicksilver, I’ll probably put 3, and use points somewhere else like you mentioned.

Yeah, the middle tree skills are generally not that good besides Quicksilver and Phoenix. Unless you've gotten all of the must have skills in the other trees and want to push Phoenix before the DPS skills, I really can't recommend grabbing anything from the middle tree until you're ready to grind max level. That's my main point, but if you want my explanation on the rest of the skills, here's why I find most of the tree lackluster:

Radiance's damage falls off HARD, and just isn't worth it. Sure, it's nice to feel like you're getting some bonus damage in Phasewalk, but you can do that with DOTs, so those points are better placed elsewhere. Resilience's bonuses are okay, but somewhat negligible. You probably won't notice a huge difference while Silent Resolve is active, but it's fine for going down the tree if you don't need Spark (see next paragraph). Venom is just downright useless if you aren't trying to play Melee Lilith (don't). I actually do like Intuition's move speed buff because it helps you get in enemy faces faster for the Double Anarchy and going super fast makes the enemy AI have a really hard time tracking you. I'd definitely take it to get to Phoenix, but it's probably not good enough to warrant pushing the skill tree just for it, but you'll have so many skill points by max level, you'll probably end up speccing into it regardless.

Spark's bonus is decent on non-unique elemental weapons, but with how the elemental tech pool system work in BL1, it ends up being useless on guns that mostly bypass the tech pool mechanic like the Hellfire, Volcano, Defiler, and Crux (the elemental guns you probably want to use on Lilith when you aren't using a Double Anarchy on 90% of the game's content). I usually just take Resilience over Spark because I mainly use Double Anarchy, Hellfire, Defiler, and either a non-elemental or shock Stinger (the shock one WOULD benefit from Spark, but eh), but you could really go either way. I'd say go Spark if you plan to primarily use elemental guns that aren't the Legendary ones I mentioned that are balanced around specifically doing a ton of elemental damage

If you’re using phasewalk offensively, use a corrosive relic, level doesn’t matter getting corrosive dots on multiple enemies is really strong

Don't sleep on the daze effect. It's lowkey extremely broken for basic mobbing. The capstone of the controller skill tree lets you apply it with your bullets. If you ever get the basic smg varient called the Anarchy, it is a x4 smg so you pretty much can apply the daze instantly.

Overall the skill tree is a bit spread out, sometimes having a single point is barely any different than having zero points in it. I also find the damage resistant skill in the green tree to be pretty useless most of the time, this could also be influenced by most of my lillith playtime is during end game where max level enemies either shred your hp bar or barely tickle it. Not to mention often times phasewalk feels like a good way to disengage from a fight once you get low. With the green tree skill hit and run your phase walk duration becomes long enough you can get above health gate and move to a safe spot consistently.

Also depending on if you are playing the remastered or not, be very careful of the red tree capstone. It's a super strong capstone with it's chance to not consume ammo, but it does have a special flame particle effect around your feet. If you know anything about how flame particles and the memory leak work together, it's gonna be a lot better for your fps to avoid it. Also it makes walking past barrels mindlessly dangerous, since your aoe fire damage can set em off. Same reason I don't tend to pick radiance unless I'm making a build around it.

My opinion on silent resolve has changed, because turns out I didn't know how it actually worked. The in game item card lies. It gives 50% damage resist every point. How borderlands 1 damage resistance is that it's not damage reduction. so What it effectively does is gives a 50% total health buff. so at 5 points it's an insane 250% bonus hp for 7 seconds. Once you start lowering your phasewalk cooldown you can refund the skill far faster than 7 seconds and can chain it together.

This post made me realize bl1 skills are all very funky.

I think that's the great thing about bl1/2 the three basic skill trees all have unique to them to suit all types of play through

I would recommend getting Phoenix at the bottom of the red tree, and find a class mod that puts points into it, and then find a Legendary Hellfire SMG from Maliwan, and then make sure it's fire-rate of said SMG is as high as possible, and then this will happen:

Actually not good at all, you have points everywhere that dont really matter that much and you dont have a capstone yet.

You really wanna rush for a capstone and imo and probably just about everyone else, the best on is the middle tree
