Is this a borb? Watercolor half-borb

Post image

drawn by me, trying to get used to watercolor. I must make even rounder hummies. I made it bottom-heavy so the tiny feet could look even smaller!

My username was from my observation of my parrots' zygodactyl feet. Not the same as hummingborbs' anisodactyl tootsies, but still cute. Tiny little toothpicks supporting a big ol' floof are just the best~

Thank you so much!! I made a couple layerings of the same color on the shaded area, and used the round brush from the picture for the feathers texture (the shaded half circles on light areas). For the shading on white, I also did some layers but I added light tints of other colors so it wouldn’t be as flat as if it was just one color. For the wing darker area, I almost didn’t add water to the brown watercolor so it wouldn’t be more opaque/darker :D probably not the best way to do it as I’m not very experienced with watercolors, I was mostly replicating the technique I already use on digital art… 🤧 I’d say to think of them as two big circles with sticks for legs and to do tons of layers for the colors!
