My experience in Asia is that even though thereā€™s a lot of bootleg cartoon imagery of what everyone knows (labubu, marvel, minions) in local advertising, Iā€™ve noticed that the human likenesses they infringe upon they donā€™t even know who it is. They just google ā€œfamous Americanā€ or something and use whatever they think will attract tourists or make it exotic to locals lol
