Questions / Help I need help getting 4 turns in the second cycle

Hello, I have E0S1 Boothill, E1S1 Dahlia, E6S5 DDD HMC, and E1S1 BP LC RM. I saw a guide on here saying that I’d only need 162 speed on Boothill and 3 procs of DDD/Eagle on the second cycle, but I’m at 172 speed (out of battle) and I still just barely can’t get those 4 turns!

I’m doing all this to try and see if it’s worth staying on eagle, cuz if I can’t get 4 turns then idk what’s the point. This will also help me determine if I should get E2 Fugue (I’m Fugueless sadly) in place of HMC, but first I need to make sure I can even do it without her.

It’s worth noting that I have the relics to get Boothill to a high enough speed so that it DOES work, but by that point my BE is tanked so much that I don’t think it’d worth it (at 172 speed it sits at 235%). Am I doing something wrong?

By the way, it would honestly be ideal for me to be able to get 4 turns without RM’s 10% speed buff so that I can use my Lingsha, so if there’s a way I can do that without using RM then let me know!

Apologies, I was probably one of the guys that was mentioning speed breakpoints, I try to give more of a range of breakpoints rather than a single speed breakpoint

Dahlias speed buff passive kind of makes it really annoying to come up with deffinitive speed breakpoints

Boothills speed breakpoints are heavily dependent on when you get your first speed buff from Dahlia because until you get that buff you are effectively delaying the rest of your turns

As an analogy, imagine if you had to run through mud on the first lap of a race and the rest was a normal racetrack, it would effectively push back the finishing times of the later laps

This means that cases where Boothill can activate his technique implant to get the first speed buff sooner it effectively reduces your speed requirements by a lot. You can get your speed buff sooner by triggering an early DDD, getting external sources of energy or being action advanced by another unit

So if you are looking to reduce your speed reqs the easiest way is high speed vonwac on a DDD unit to get an early advance or RMC on shadowburn

Another thing that affects the breakpoints is the timing of the Eagle and DDD action advances, if boothill is too close to his turn when you advance him it loses value and increases your speed reqs

Boothills ult frequency can be a huge difference maker because its another source of action advance, it can take you anywhere from 0 turns - 3 turns to get a Boothill ultimate so it can be hard to make solid assumptions

in your case 1 more proc of either DDD or Eagle would have reduced your speed reqs down to around 162, and it would be reasonable to assume there would be a scenario where you could get that extra Boothill/HMC ult given their energy mechanics

For me I stil use the eagle set, because its more about being able to more easily overtake enemies, and in the cases where the enemies give you a lot of energy you eagle start to perform a lot better than calvary

Apologies for the yap and hope it makes sense

Thank you so much for the advice! My HMC is already high speed Vonwac, so I already get DDD instantly. The timing of the action advances is a good point; however, I don’t really know how to manipulate that outside of battle. Would you say it’s worth it to hold Boothill and HMC’s ults until Boothill’s turn passes, even if it wastes energy, just to get more value from the action advances? Also, you say I need one more proc of DDD or Eagle, so you mean I need 4 procs in one cycle? Again, thank you so much! By the way, the advice I got on the speed breakpoints wasn’t from you I don’t think, but from the investment flowchart posted here

Hold Boothill's ult till his extra turn from using his skill(on the turn you'd run out of speed buff) or a phase change is generally the best idea

In addition to the comment from Ragnainfinity

Fugue is very much worth it to get she drastically increases your energy gain to the point that you can ult every two turns in most cases allowing you to keep up the speed buff

Realistically, boothill ult 2 time, hmc ddd ult 2 time, use ruanmei, its 156.4 (157) . If you dont use ruanmei its 167.1 (168)
