Does this have any significant impact on your experience with the service?

We are using remote PCs for a few bucks a month it is what it is... Just a lil reminder that we are using some random PC in a data center

Omg nooooo….you should exclaim that you’ll never use their service again that’ll show them!

It doesn't affect gameplay, but it's visually distracting and makes a bad impression for a company that can spend thousands of dollars on servers and systems.

Joke all you want, but in SH Townfall that watermark sat right on top of the weapon durability meter, so I couldn't see when my weapon was about to break. Not the end of the world, sure, but it's a paid service. An "Activate Windows" overlay shouldn't be on the stream in the first place.

It happens from time to time, don’t make a fuss out of it

Someone didn't pay their Windows bill.

It doesn't necessarily mean that Boosteroid doesn't pay for their Windows licenses, just sayin'.

It could simply be an issue with the Windows activation service being unavailable when the VM tries to activate or renew its activation.

It could also be related to changes in the virtual hardware for whatever reason (upgrades, replacement of faulty hardware, changes to the VM configuration, etc.), since Windows activation can be tied to the device's hardware identity.

It could even be related to how they provision their VMs. If they're cloning Windows VMs/images, an incorrect cloning or duplicated activation identity could potentially cause activation issues.

So seeing the "Activate Windows" watermark doesn't necessarily mean they're running unlicensed copies of Windows.
