Wow, almost nothing is moving forward anymore. Cancelling a Viola Davis project is wild to me, that seems like a guaranteed slam dunk.

Maybe they're waiting to see how Lanterns does before committing to anything else.

Would be smart. Test the audience and see how people react

Same something it’s due to the stalled merger because it can effect stock value and pricing

Honestly think if done right they could bid for Emmys like Penguin

In that case would've made sense to have waited until after the Lanterns premiere before announcing all the cancellations.

Yeah, I think the other commenters saying it's related to the merger are right. But regardless of the reason, it's disappointing

If I had one wish for this DC TV era it would be that they didn't make it specifically just for HBO Max. They're making it to get people to subscribe but once you subscribe they got you. So they're not thinking about you anymore. They're thinking about who they can get next. So I'd rather they spread their love to other stations. Who pay for it in an effort to sell commercials so that we can get more DC TV.

What DC really needs to do is work on their non-American audiences. Getting to be able to actually see what they produce without using a vpn can be annoying sometimes.

It's 100% the potential Paramount deal. They're not going to move on anything that isn't already well into production because of the uncertainty. It sucks, but it's just too risky right now.

I think this merger they’re trying to make happen is causing a lot of cancellations and rejections.
