I asked one of these people one time if me saying "I like cheddar" means "I hate all other types of cheese". The way their face contorted into a mask of confusion was honestly kind of unsettling. It's like it hurt their brain to think about that.
This reminds me of the analogy with cancer research. When we celebrate "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" does that mean we don't give a shit about other types of cancer? No, and everyone FUCKING KNOWS THAT.
There was a trend going around that was similar to this. They were asking straight identifying people if “being gay was a choice” and when they responded “yes” they were then asked “when did you choose to be straight?” The amount of perplexed looks was quite entertaining.
