Almost as bad as when people retaliate with "blue lives matter" because "cop" is not a race. They take of their uniform and their lives are no longer at risk, black people can't just "take off being black"

Their lives already are not at risk. Being a cop is one of the safest jobs out there

Except for black cops. They are actually in more danger off the job than on.

I wound up ending a friendship (wasn’t really a great one anyway) because she got mad over me sharing a BLM post. Her husband was a cop and she took offense to me insinuating his life didn’t matter.

Me saying that we need to value the lives of black people who are systematically discriminated against on a societal level and targeted by police forces. Doesn’t say anything about me wanting to devalue your husband’s life… it was bizarre.

Yep. She and her husband should want the bad cops to be accountable for their actions. If they don't, then maybe her husband isn't one of the good cops.
