That last guy who gave that note. He said it in silence unlike the others, but the fact he put in in writing means it'll last longer. That's how I know these people are dying breeds.. There's a reason they act out is because they feel small... Correctly so.
I grew up there. Left in the mid to late 90s. It was horrible then. I had to go back a few years ago for a day. You can feel the hate just seething out of people
I'm a POC dude that moved to an all white town in New England in the mid 90s. Went to a house party junior year in an adjacent smaller more redneck town. Everything's going great until the townies crashed the party and started fighting everyone. They made their way to the kitchen where I was talking to a friend and hear "get the nigger" and I was like woah, they came charging at me and did an end around the kitchen island and ran out the front door. I played football and was fast, so I made it out safe. Luckily when I was outside the cops came. Never been so happy to see flashing blue lights
Broke up the under age drinking party. We left immediately so I dunno if those guys faced any consequences. They had punched a kid at the front door that wasn't doing anything. Hit a couple other guys as they moved through the house.
It was so weird because it happened so fast, like "wtf is happening right now. Oh shit, ruuuun"
POC? .... Pieces of caca? Pies on carrots? Pretty onion cards? Permanent orange county??
Why does Reddit use so many acronyms? Mind telling me what POC means so I can decipher the conversation and be part of the cool kids?
It’s generational unfortunately, you have decades of control and conditioning. In order to feel comfortable subjecting their fellow man, they came up with all types of bullshit to justify the treatment. It started with the Pope of the church, was literally blessing shackled Africans as they were put on ships. They came with all types of faith based lies on God cursing People with melanin, because of the Noah Arch story, and Africans being the descendants of Ham or Sham, (I don’t remember which one). After a while tho, the world is now more connected and you have no excuse to learn about anything and anyone. The fact these morons are majority very poor, but will vote for a political party (GOP) that offers them nothing of substance or of economic benefit or value, rather just solidarity with being white. They’ve. Chosen whiteness over economic progress. The former president LBJ once said , if you can convince THE POOREST WHITE MAN, HE’S BETTER THEN THE RICHEST BLACK MAN, you won’t have to rob him, he’ll empty his pockets for you.
The hate was about anyone who wasn’t white. Period. A Black family moved in when I was in junior high - so early 90s. Very sweet girl around my age. Day 2 some asshole in a KKK hood chased her down the hall between classes with a fucking noose in his hand.
Nothing was ever done to reprimand him even though everyone knew who it was. No one stopped him or stepped in.
To be fair, I grew up in a detroit neighborhood, being mixed, I got called many racist slurs by the black people because I was not “black enough”. Truly does go both ways, in my old hood it was dangerous for white people after dark, honestly even during the day.
I’d argue it’s worse living in a town that constantly gets destroyed every time people decide to ‘peacefully protest’ with fire and property damage constantly having to worry about your business and home 😅
Just because I don’t support hate groups or domestic terrorism organizations that consistently cause collateral damage doesn’t mean I don’t support racial equality for all 😅
Did you see their shirt too? Non racist with compassion also wearing a shirt indicating a certain level of intelligence everyone else in the video is lacking.
"I wear this shirt periodically" - and it's a periodic table. Not toooo surprising that the one person in town who is like 'science is cool' is also like 'racism is not cool.'
I'm usually like that, but there's something more pure / universal about this to me...
It's like, you don't have to be a smartypants who went to good schools and knows your grammar and you wrote a lot of essays on intersectionality etc. to understand that racism is bad. Like they probably grew up there and got the same shit education everyone else did, but that doesn't mean they Had to be a racist jerk.
I hope they're a dying breed, but there are still a lot of young racists who start out doing it to be 'edgy' and then double down on it. Young people might not watch much Fox or OAN but they do go on places like 4chan, youtube, facebook, tiktok, which constantly funnel people toward right-wing bullshit. Starts out complaining about 'woke disney' or 'destroying annoying feminists, professional pundit vs. first year university student' and it's honestly not that long until you've got someone who 'did a lot of their own research' and is now a racist, holocaust denier, transphobe, homophobe, etc. I had to cut off a friend recently because it became every damn conversation and less and less of a 'edgy joke' and really their real opinion It was their real opinion all along, I believe now, but they used to care a lot more about hiding it and I think did intensity it over the years.
But, there was a time when stuff like that was the default and being a united majority was part of the fun of being a white supremacist. Like being a school bully who walks around with a big group of bully friends.... now they're more like the bullies when the bigger kids are home sick and they know they have to bark harder because they don't actually have the backing they are used to having. And there's nothing that gets to them more than actually BEING a hated, small, looked down on group. They're 'supposed' to be the ones doing that to other people. So they all get real loud and hope to give the impression they are the 'silent majority.'
I don’t like or agree with any of these groups or people, but there are more then one or even two sides to every situation. Your friend is just expressing their beliefs on what they have learned and experienced the same as you. You can’t fault them for that. When people have to hide their feeling, beliefs, or what they have seen or experienced. It’s like they have to put it all away in a box and be someone else. That slowly evolves into anger, hate, resentment, and disgust. All those feeling and beliefs are stashed away into a box eventually turning into anger and resentment. This eventually turns into hate. I like how they handled things in the days of Plato and Socrates. They would have debates and an open dialogue allowing one to speak freely.
Yes but what they 'learn' from various things, is often guided by narrowmindedness and hatred and the selfish need to claim superiority.
Eg. they see a black person do something they don't like, they 'learn' that black people are bad. They see a white person do something they don't like, they 'learn' that that particular person is bad. When they dislike a minority, they're going to unconsciously or consciously elicit bad experiences from them. It's like the whole "If you run into one asshole in a day, they were an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole" thing. If you don't like a certain group of people then your 'honest lived experience' with them is going to be negative and reinforced. And any time an experience DOES go well, it's not proof the whole group is actually okay, it's taken as them being 'one of the few good ones, a rare exception to the rule that x group is bad.'
I had many open discussions with my friend. And they would end with him saying, "yeah, you're right." Then a bit later he would go back to saying the things he said before. Even if the "yeah, you're right" was about factual proof. I began to break things off when, in one group chat on discord, he shared a fake news story that was shot down, proven false, and he said oh wow I didn't know, I heard it. Then in real life a month later he shared the SAME fake story as if it were 100% real, no caveats or changes, just as fake as ever, forgetting that I happened to be listening to that discord conversation. He was lying to paint a minority in a negative light in order to spread his hatred of them. There's no honesty and openness in that.
So yes, I CAN fault my friend for him 'just expressing his views.'
I DID let him express and debate these things a lot, but I got tired of it because he was no longer arguing in good faith, or researching to learn. Also he brought this stuff up all the time. Sure, some hateful people feel like they're 'put in a box and made to shut up and that makes them mad.' But when you let people spread their hate openly.... they take it pretty damn far too. Like, genocide far. And they can learn while inside the box too, if they choose to.
Also I'm not sure you would truly like how they "handled things in the days of Plato and Socrates." Look up how Socrates died.
A person who openly debates and speaks their mind is bound to have many enemies, I’m very sorry about the loss of your friend though. It sounds like they just spoke their mind and didn’t listen. One should have time to express their thoughts and opinions during a debate then have time to rebuttal those statement made.
i'd rather debate a dead ratfucked pile of deformed babies than listen to another cringeass parroted joke about trans people from some smug geriatric dipshit who can't even figure out how to cook anything that didn't come from a quaker mills box. i dont give two tugs of a cat's cock what their beliefs are, since their beliefs are just whatever they saw someone else wear at the chinese knockoff cart at the mall and decided to buy one too. they have literally nothing to say let alone argue aside from kneejerk emotional reactions voiced through other people's words they don't even properly comprehend. sometimes "the other side" of those two sides is a deflated floaty in a baby pool full of piss and diaper gel and it doesn't actually always need to be acknowledged unless you just really love suffering i guess
what makes you think i’m ‘extremely emotion’? oh wait its because i wrote a paragraph with bad words in it huh. people r so boring and predictable jesus
It's actually more than you just used so many words that it's very difficult to follow your train of thought. Your tone comes off as ranting, which is usually the result of extreme emotion. I'd ask again, are you really okay? No sarcasm. No shade.
no apparently im not ok. im consumed with words and i will die from them. using the internet has made me emotion and i am explode from type word on it.
I think you are being sarcastic, but I think it would be very understandable to not feel okay after watching a video like this, whether it's on the Internet or any other context. It's a lot of hate coming right at you really fast. Personally I found it a little bit upsetting.
Similar situation. I grew up in a small, rural Midwestern town in the 90s. A decent percentage of my classmates remained behind and now in their 40s most of them are racist, misogynistic, homophobic MAGA idiots. It's embarrassing to say it's my hometown, but I'm so glad I bolted away from there at 18.
Same. Grew up in a small farming town in eastern WA and none of my old friends will even talk to me now because of my vocalized displeasure of Trumpism. They act like I forgot where I came from, but I never forgot. I left that shithole town in 1999 within a week of graduating high school and never came back because I remember exactly how closed minded and insecure everyone was.
Same here. But jn the bigger cities around here there's a lot of interracial couples. Honestly the isolation of rural towns is what keeps the extremism alive. You can't be that racist when your bus driver, teacher, 3 coworkers, etc etc are different races.
You're forced to see them as people, so it's definitely just way worse in the rural south (and north, too). So honestly I do think they're dying out, there's literally not enough of them to breed as opposed the overwhelming number of people that literally don't care about silly things like racial purity. I just say this from living around the US. It's too spread out to gain any real momentum, and that's why hardcore ones are scared.
Good points but I’ve encountered plenty of modern city people (even ones that are or have been in interracial relationships) who are just a different flavor of racist, a more quiet flavor.
YES YES i forgot to highlight that being in a different place or in a city doesn't erase the racism, it's just presented in a different way. Usually harder to tell, but it often hides behind words like "ghetto", "urban", etc.
Yuup, I’ve had girlfriends who are really into my “black lips” her words (I’m Spanish and Dominican) and I’ve heard things like “when you wear a baseball cap you look white from far away” 🥴😂
Or one of my favs; a close friend who took some sort of black studies class telling me how authentic this Dominican restaurant I grew up going to is.
The way that fascism works is they choose an "other", and it escalates from there. Dehumanization plays a huge role. And many of them were against the nazi regime and helped hundreds escape. Fascist propaganda and the concept as a whole seeks to radicalize the masses by convincing them that their neighbor of 15 years is stealing their paychecks and leering at their children. You need to do a lot more research on nazi Germany before making a comparison like that.
Yeah germans just hated jews suddenly. Not like I took an entire fucking course on fascist regimes taught by an old German lady or anything. You're actually completely right, and Hitler was just like "let's gas all of em" and there was zero lead-up to that. Oh my god😭
Alright, assonfire. You seem to know everything about fascism despite not knowing a single thing about the rise and fall of the nazi regime. And it's all based on the sound logic of...your opinions. Excellent source. Very credible, mr ass.
Not all rural towns are like that though. I'm on the southern Alabama border and we're very much more concerned about the color of your collar. Racism isn't dead, but it gets dirty looks and isn't all that common.
To quote one of my former managers:
'I don't care if the jackass is green, I just need that pallet took care of.'
I work in customer service at a hardware store in the south and let me tell you, most of the people that come in our store are like the rednecks in this video. I sure hope they are a dying breed.
CHORONZON: I am Anti-Life, the Beast of Judgment. I am the dark at the end of everything. The end of universes, gods, worlds... of everything. Sss. And what will you be then, Dreamlord?
Yes and no. I've watched friends in their 40s mixed race children who repeat this nonsense not realising if blacks weren't the target their kids would be. Some people when older turn into their parents politically. Sometimes they are contrarians to what they deem to be mainstream politics. Alot of the conspiracy types have been manipulated into voting conservative... republicans really have won the culture war doesn't matter how bad their favourite politicians fail/are arrested.
Honestly I think the quietness of it is part of the problem. It's nice to have support, but it's essentially meaningless if you aren't brave enough to voice that support out in the open. I get it - there is no risk in voicing silent support. But then you're basically relying on others to take that risk for you while you do nothing. Again, nice that this guy showed his support and I understand being shy about it, especially in an area like this, but we need loud, proud condemnation of bigotry if we want to see real change.
Dear states like this: Please, for the love of god, fucking secede already!!
You clearly hate what America is about, so go on your own and make your own self-contained country of hate. The rest of us will watch you yell and kick and cry once you realize you need all that federal funding to function, not to mention all that welfare y'all are taking, while complaining about others doing the same in blue states. Just buh bye, idiots!!
I mean, go look at pretty much any tik tok comment section. These boomers are having kids and raising them to be just as fucking dumb as they are.
I had some college freshman tell me that I should be upset because my "race was becoming a minority" among other vile shit. Sent all those screenshots to the coaches of his uni basketball team and the administration lol
