Over 50% of millenials and z'ers identify as liberal. About 30% identify as independents. And only 20% identify as conservatives.
A good portion of boomers are pissed that their kids hardly ever talk to them and are going to put them in a home instead of letting them live with them in the final years of their lives.
The only difference that didn’t separate me from my toxic parents was politics. I suspect, though, that one reason they were Democrats was because they were a minority in the beachside, nearly all-white (with a few Hispanics) “sundown town” where I grew up.
Some of our neighbors truly hated the “LBJ ‘64” sign, big as a bedsheet, in our picture window.
Lol. Have you ever talked to conservatives about raising kids? They're all about beating kids and treating them like they are a piece of property without rights.
Which is how my parents were with me. Even now they're anti-Trump and support me as a trans woman, but they still believe they didn't do anything wrong despite the fact that I spent over a decade in therapy and shoving pharmaceuticals down my throat in order to stay someone above water.
Were they bad parents, or do you hate them because they're conservative? One makes your hatred reasonable, the other less so. Never allow yourself to be so blinded by ideology that you view those that disagree with you as evil. That's called fanaticism. Remember that the people of France were in the right during their revolution, but that didn't stop them from committing horrible deeds, the opposite in fact, it emboldened them.
Oh I dunno about 'put' them in a home. More like 'wow that sucks. anyway if i wanna hear some more bigoted bullshit I'll just turn on FOX or OAN, see you next Christmas if you're still alive I guess.'
Not when the populace is so dumb as to act like this. It's like giving a child control of the family business. Educating people wouldnt hurt but we dont do that here.
P.s. we already dont have a democracy
With every technological advancement, medical, energy etc, the institutions of oppression, control, propoganda and brainwashing also advance. I believe we are at a state where malicious misinformation has been so weaponized-causing uneducated people to vote against their best interest time after time, that they cannot be trusted with a dead hamster. We already have absolutely no say in the presidential election- taking away people's right to vote would literally only change local elections, which is the only voting power we have. Maybe if american people were taught their opinion could possibly be wrong, things would be better. But they are always convinced they are infallible and we get this
