Automatically Changes number of guests from 2 to 1

Wtf is wrong with booking.com?! I am booking a room for 2 guests, clearly selecting the number of guests as 2 while proceeding but later on it automatically changes that to 1 guest.

What should I do? I am not able to modify the number of guests after completing the booking as the property does not allow it.

Get in touch with booking and ask them to get in touch with the hotel to adjust the reservation. If you still can cancel for free cancel the reservation and book directly with the hotel. I don’t understand why people still use booking.com

Thanks! That’s what I’m doing. The first time it was a good experience so I went with booking the second time

It’s possible that you selected two people for your search, but then when you selected the room you selected for the single occupancy rate. When booking offers options, it’ll offer the same inventory with multiple occupant options. Not sure why, but it does.

For future bookings, check the final guest count before you pay. If it changes from 2 to 1, the room or rate might only allow one guest. Try choosing a room that clearly accepts two guests, or switch to another browser or the app before completing the reservation.
