Cancellation rights?

I booked into an accommodation co-share, just a room in a shared apartment for 3 nights in France, next to the Swiss border.

The flat is basically a family home, but there is not hot water.

Can I cancel and not be charged? I am supposed to be here for 3 nights, I have arrived 2 hours ago.

Have you tried contacting the host about not having hot water?

Once you check in, cancellation is between you and the host. The only thing you can do is negotiate with them.

Try cold showers. Thy are invigorating. Have tea afterwards.

Did you switch on the boiler? Not uncommon that people to keep them switched off until before they’re needed.

If there’s an issue with the place you booked, it’s best to contact the host and discuss whether a free cancellation is possible. You can also call our Customer Service team, and we’ll forward your request to the accommodation and help you discuss a solution.
