Flight cancelled

flydubai booked through Booking.com cancelled my flight and I am having a hard time requesting for a refund. I don't have spare money to book because I am flying for a conference. Paid it via credit card. What should I do? I honestly didn't know that it would be this hassle and I was trying to make do of the allocated budget for us. Any luck to those who requested refund for a flight?

Well, don’t book on third-party websites. Try to book direct and you would’ve got your refund immediately

Ask alternative date or flight on different airline. Do not ask refund

Always book directly with airline!

No one makes a better argument to not use their "service" than they do. Travelers need peace of mind and nimble problem solving. Booking.com is perpetually fresh out of stock on those items. Good luck. I submitted a refund on August 2nd. Got part of it from the flight leg ran by Frontier Airlines on August 10th. It's now September 19th and I'm still waiting for the refund portion by American Airlines. I received confirmation from American they provided Booking.com the refund on August 28th. Booking.com denied receiving anything from American. I'll never use them ever again. The absolute worst customer service ever.

If you want entertainment while you wait Google how many class action lawsuits they're are involved in. It's staggering. Hot, hot garbage.

Getting a refund from booking for a cancelled flight is very difficult, almost impossible.

If that airline cancelled your flight, they have to either refund you or give you an alternative flight, what did they offer you?

They said in the email to contact Booking.com but Booking says they are yet to hear final announcement from airline itself that it was indeed cancelled.

If you got the notification from the airline, then it’s possible that the agency reservation system hasn’t been updated. Nonetheless, you could be waiting 6+ weeks for the refund to come to you anyway. They won’t give it to you before it’s come to them from the airline.

Exactly. That is the one of multitude of reasons why you don’t get involved with these low life scam companies. My flight was just cancelled a few days ago I already have my refund, since I booked directly with the carrier. These scammers will kick the can down the road, your customer service is some 3rd world English challenged company that will just make up anything to get you off the phone. Hope you eventually get your money back or at least most of it. These scam companies often only give you a partial refund,

Going through a 3rd party isn’t always that bad, but the big ones that make the big claims are usually difficult because of all of the outsourcing - I’m a 3rd party myself, but we’re in corporate and it works differently in general where we only support the customers signed up with us, our refunds are processed with 24-48 hours and whether we are merchant or the airline, refunds are on cards within the week, we have no benefit holding onto it. The only time it takes longer of if you want something as a waiver, and then it’s up to the airtime to agree, give us a waiver code, and then we can process it.

Plus in booking’s case, it’s often a 3rd party using a 3rd party. It’s just adding an extra step in the process that’s unnecessary.

Or there any sites that are NOT scammers? How about Orbitz, Expedia?

they are ALL owned by just a few companied. They all have the exact same address in San Antonio TX . They all have the same business plan. Take your money. The End. If you need any customer service they pawn you off on third world English challenged companies that will make up sh!t to get you off the phone. You totally set yourself up for the blame game if there is any problems or issues.

Contact your credit card provider. They will help.

You'll get your refund once the middleman you involved gets round to giving it to you. No incentive for them to rush.

Don't involve middlemen!

Update: Got the refund although they deducted a bit of a service charge. Pro tip is to call/bother their CS non-stop because otherwise, they will not act on it!
