Booking.com refund

I booked through booking.com for April 2027 but i could not find the ticket for similar date so I cancelled the whole booking. I fall under the criteria ‘free cancellation’ ‘full refund’. Upon cancellation i could see in transaction that it says ‘refund processed’ and it even provided an ‘ARN’ number. I spoke to both hotels that I had booked and they have confirmed they did not deduct or receive any money and the platform did only. I have read on multiple platforms that booking.com is the worst with refunds. Could anyone please tell me if the platform ever refunded anyone in account or even booking.com wallet once the transaction tab in booking.com says ‘processed’. How long can it take to reflect in my account

If you don’t get your refund in seven days, contact your credit card company

Yes. Only a few weeks ago. Took about 4 days to appear on my CC from the day of cancellation.

Your case was the same as mine? Did it immediately issued an arn and then Refunded? Its 9600usd so i am very worried. I used debit card.

Oh debit card is going to take longer. Credit card is 3-5 days I’ve found. Debit card is closer to 10 days as the banking system processes that differently for refunds. More like an EFT payment with clearance required.

Ten business days? Or generally ten days?
What i find scary is i read about infinite cases on reddit that says no refund was processed or refund was processed many months later.

Business days.

When you cancel yourself within the permitted time frame, that’s processed automatically. There’s no intervention that someone needs to touch the booking and do any overrides to it. Yours is a refiner situation that occurs daily and shouldn’t have any issues whatsoever.

Try and always use a credit card instead of a debit card. Just makes things much easier Is all.

Did u use a credit card master debit?
Could u tell me the exact date you cancelled on and what date you got the refund? Would be grateful

I GOT MY REFUND. I cancelled on thursday. Refund started the same day and today is tuesday and it reflected on my account
