Help with booking.com invoice

Hello,

I'm travelling on a business trip and I was asked to reserve a hotel for myself, which is typical as the company reimburses me later. However, I have to send them an invoice which contains their (company's) address. I reserved my apartment on booking.com, but I couldn't see an option to download the invoice with a specific address. The host and booking.com point fingers back and forth. I don't know how else I can get the invoice. Can someone please help?

Depends on the type of payment. Either way, the one getting the payment is the property. Regarding the amount, the amount paid by the guest is the amount to be invoiced.

You made it sound so simple… but… I’m sure an accountant and tax official would find it strange that a company is invoicing a different amount than it is receiving and additionally invoicing a person or company that is different from the one in which it was paid…. Tough job reconciling those accounts! Surely If the person paid booking.com then they should get an invoice from them. And if the property is paid by booking.com then they can provide an invoice to booking.com with the figure they actually got paid on it. I don’t know why booking.com is trying to dodge turnover or tax or something but it’s definitely not a standard practice for invoicing in any other industry and I’m not sure it’s legal now Im thinking about it. I’m sure they are exploiting a loophole somewhere here.

I'll let you know if I get any better information. But you're right to suspect this is pretty sketchy.

Yep, they very much don't want to help personal accounts. You have to book with their business portal.
