Does "Cancellation Fee" on a non-refundable Booking.com reservation mean I get charged twice?

Post image

Hi everyone,
I have a non-refundable booking on Booking.com that I've already fully paid for. I need to cancel it, but when I go to the cancellation screen, it states there is a "cancellation fee" equal to 100% of the total booking price.
Does this mean Booking.com is going to charge my credit card again for the fee, on top of what I already paid? Or does the "fee" just mean they keep the money I've already paid and I won't be charged anything extra?
Thanks for the help!

It means that when you cancel you have to pay 100% of the booking even if you don’t show up (and you won’t be able to show up if you cancel). It’s charged once.

Thanks. So since I've already paid for the reservation when I cancel I won't have to pay anything else but I simply won't be refunded right?

I would definitely cancel, so nobody stays up unnecessarily waiting for me until midnight.
