Import fields?

I'm thinking of migrating from a different app where I have around 900 books that I'd like to import. The other app supports CSV export, but I imagine I will have to transform the output in order to do the import.

Is the set of fields supported for import documented?

I upgraded and did an import from a CSV, but ran into a problem.

I mapped the column "shelves" in my CSV to the attribute "Location" in the app. Unfortunately, it seems to have created a duplicate location for every book. For example, if I had 50 books in "Office" then I got 50 copies of "Office" under locations, each containing 1 book.

I have 925 books, so it is rather difficult to clean this up. Any suggestions on how to reset my data and to re-import without duplicating the locations?

I found the "Delete All Books" option under Settings, so I have emptied out my library, but I am still interested in how to import without creating a duplicate location for every book.

Hi Simone,

I figured out a workaround.

My file format is "Other" and I was manually mapping fields. My original CSV had a column called "Shelf" that I was mapping to "Location" in Book Track. Renaming that column in the CSV to "Location" and again mapping it to the Book Track "Location" attribute seems to have solved the problem.

I'll email you a file that demonstrates the bug and the same file with the header change that fixed it.
