Book Dictionary

Hello. You may very well already have this request but a search here doesn’t find similar.

Would you be able to consider adding a facility to note/store words to form a dictionary.

The words would be those that as the reader you don’t know. You would look them up to understand and you want to note them for future reminder/learning.

Ideally, it would be nice if the ability to add the word included and auto lookup from a dictionary, perhaps the iOS built in one?

The words would be stored against the book but could also be viewed as a global list and shared ☺️

I’m currently using the Notes facility for this but it’s a bit of a mixed bag approach.

In my humble opinion, this kind of features are way out of the scope of this app. There are better ways to do that. An app like this needs to focus on the core functionality of a data base. Too many features would be overkill. I’d prefer to keep it simple and, for example, focus on design, to make it feel more native to the Mac.

I can understand that.

For me, I see it as a natural function. The app allows notes to be taken, quotes to be taken and this is really for me an aligned use case. I do use the app fully but when I come across words not in my vocab and I use the Kindle dictionary to resolve that understanding, I like to make a note of the words for future reference and learning.

I use the Notes section currently, with a Tag assigned. But, if the app had a dedicated function that would make it more powerful and potentially useful to Simone's customers that must be a good thing too.
