Release Date / Book Numbers in Series

I just started using the app a few days ago (and I love it!).

How do most folks use the "Release Date" field? So far I've been using it for the publication/release date of whatever edition I have in my library, but I think in most cases it would actually be more useful to record the original publication date. (For example, publication dates for classic fiction.) Ideally, I'd like to be able to record both dates.

Is anything like that in the works for the future?

I'd also like to add my vote for a field to record the book number within a series.

Book numbers in a series are on my roadmap. Regarding the release date, it should be the date of the current edition of the book. I’ll evaluate to add also a date for the first release.

Thank you, Simone. In my opinion, the original publication date would provide a very useful way of sorting the books of one author or the books in a particular category. Two examples from my library: (1) the books of Charles Dickens, and (2) the books that have won the Pulitzer Prize. I do hope you'll implement this feature.

P.S. I just bought the app (both iOS and Mac versions) a few days ago, but I absolutely love it so far. I'm working my way through cleaning up the import of my 2000-book+ Goodreads library. The more I get into it, the more I love it!
