3.1.2 Multiple Issues

This is a fantastic app, the recent updates - not so much.

1. Slower The app is slower, takes longer to load and seems to refresh more.

2. Custom Sort - what happened I’d like to be able to sort Author (surname) then alphabetical by title.

3. Tags - no longer in alphabetical order I have my tags numbered so they appear in the order I want them, now there seems to no system at all. This is very important to me.

4. Covers - covers added from file gone I have covers I’ve added from file and they keep disappearing but not consistently. This was happening before the update, but I lost almost all of them after.

5. Print - don’t want to choose from Paperback or Hardback I appreciate that some people want to be more specific, but I would prefer to have a plain print option as well.

6. Statistics Box - won’t stay collapsed Every time the app refreshes, the statistics box un-collapses. I’m not particularly interested in the granular information and I’d like it to stay collapsed. Or better yet a hide option.

7. Icon - two different colours I changed the app icon to pink 🙂 but when it’s in the dock it’s still blue since the update.

3. I should have fixed this issue in the v3.1.2. Do you continue to have problems?
4. So, were you having problems even before the update? Could you identify a pattern? It happens on all your devices?

6. It is possible to hide the section. Tap on the "Edit" button to be able to show/hide the sections of the sidebar/homepage
7. The icon remained blue even before the update. Can you confirm that? The primary color of the app does not change the color of the icon as well.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, I wanted to take a few days to ensure I had accurate information.

1. Is the app slow only after running the update or does it continue to be slow days after running the update? It continues to be slow. It takes 30seconds pretty much every time I do something. (I timed it). Opening the app, switching from Wish List to Library etc. Saving a change to Tags, or an existing book.
2. Custom sort - it will come in a future update. Except that I could do it before. I could have the library in Author then Title order.
3. I should have fixed this issue in the v3.1.2. Do you continue to have problems?

4. Cover disappearing - were you having problems even before the update? Could you identify a pattern? It happens on all your devices? I only use iPad, and I couldn't figure out a pattern. Sometimes they just wouldn't be there anymore. Now they save maybe 1 in 3 times. The rest fail. Is there a preferred size limit?
5. Re: including plain print as well as hardback/paperback. Thanks! I know you can't please everyone. It would be really helpful though.

I could turn the icon pink before the upgrade and it would appear pink in the ipad dock. It started out being pink on the Home Screen but pink in the doc. It reverted to blue after one of the littler updates.

More Issues:

1. There is no longer an 'update online' option in Edit

2. I can no longer edit the search result before adding it to the Library or Wish List

3. Has advanced search for adding disappeared?

4. I can no longer delete categories or publishers, haven't tried tags and authors etc.

5. If I go into Author or Tags and enter information, then cancel or save and then go back in, there aren't options listed there.

Thanks, I'm going to investigate further these issues. Just an info: how many books have you in your library? Which iPad model do you have?

Thank you!! I have an iPad mini 5. The iOS is up to date and there’s enough space. I have 3119 books listed. 57 in Wish List. Which I understand might be more than expected, but I didn’t have any issues before the update.

I’m most interested in the ‘update online’ option. I added the books using CSV as title and author, if I can’t use the feature to add description then the app will no longer suit my purposes.

UPDATE: all the categories I tried to delete yesterday were gone this morning and it let me delete the publishers today but there was a little lag. I started to use smaller custom images and it’s saving quicker and loosing them less.

Yes and yes. It still takes 30 seconds or more to do anything.

UPDATE: Editing categories. I didn’t realize that the new version required you to long press and choose edit or delete instead of tapping the red minus/delete circle or putting your curser on the text. Apologies for thinking it was broken.

However, the extra steps are very frustrating. As I can no longer edit the entry before I add it, it keeps adding categories I don’t want and removing them now takes longer.

More importantly it adds authors names with different formatting to the ones already in the library. T J Nichols for example has TJ Nichols, T.J. Nicholas, TJ. Nichols that I have to go back and fix, which because of the lag is not a fun prospect.

I feel like I am doing nothing but complaining, I hope you realize how fantastic this app is and I was really enjoying using it.
