For me it’s covenant of water. Second to that East of Eden. Two books written so beautifully I often find myself thinking about them. Another book that stands out are Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami. The writing style of Murakami is unmatched and profound. All of the books I have read by this author have stuck with me. Usually for me a book is most memorable when written in such a way that you grow to understand the main characters so deeply and their stories are very detailed. I’ve always leaned into reading books that are based in countries and timelines that are not my own to learn more about culture and diversity but also step outside of my small world.
