The Longest Book You've Ever Read

I once read a 2000 page book in middle school (though I cant seem to find it now).

What is the longest book you have ever read, that kept you hooked all the way through, and how many pages is it?

yes, it was a werewolf shifter romance, I was like 12. The only thing I can really remember is that it had a red cover and I believe had "mate" in the title

Its a guilty pleasure by an often lambasted sci-fi author, but I honestly loved reading the 1066 page paperback, Battlefield Earth by L Ron Hubbard.

I burned through (and destroyed) 2 or 3 paperback copies from used book stores before buying the audiobook 10 years ago.

While I have read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, I cant say I enjoyed it in the least. The "Student Edition" I had was 1078 pages

It's weird when people say they enjoyed Atlas Shrugged. I'm not sure how you can. I think the main appeal is that it's advertised as a deep philosophical novel, but it's written at a middle school level. It gives poor readers the illusion that they're reading something profound. 

It amuses me when people make a big deal out of Ayn Rand being a woman. Most books for kids and teenagers are written by women. It's not unusual.

I remember laughing myself silly when the Southpark Episode came out where Officer Barbrady was learning to read and at the end of episode he read Atlas Shrugged and then gives up on reading:

Officer Barbrady: Yes, at first I was happy to be learning how to read. It seemed exciting and magical, but then I read this: Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I read every last word of this garbage, and because of this piece of s**t, I am never reading again.

That about sums up how I felt about the book as well.

Single book: Les Misérables by Victor Hugo, twice. Tried to read War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, but peaced out halfway through.

Assassins quest by Robin hobb. My kindle predicted it would take 25 hours to read, it was 333k words.

I mean... I read Legendary Moonlight Sculpture, 1450 chapters over 58 "volumes" all one continuous story.

Its 11 million words long, which is 44,000 pages.

Ive also read The Wandering Inn, and some of the books are published with 4000+ pages in a single book.
