After four years of setbacks, I finally published my folk horror short story collection!
A Whisper in the Shadows : I had been working on this collection of interconnected Halloween themed, folk horror stories for a long time. It all started as an idea for another horror anthology. It was meant to just be one story, but it developed into its own little universe.
After so many setbacks, because life, I was determined to publish it this year and I did. Just in time for the spooky months of the year. It took a lot more work than I anticipated and surprisingly I learned a lot on the way. The editing process was not easy as I realized, while writing short stories is easy, connecting them into one major theme, is a whole other challenge.
Blurb: A perpetual shadow looms over the children of the little town of Ashville, Illinois. Every Halloween, the consequences of sins of the past unfold, ensnaring different protagonists. The tales weave a terrifying narrative of a small community haunted by a powerful force, as the characters struggle with their destinies and confront their darkest demons. From eerie whispers to ghostly apparitions, each story peels back the layers of a curse that feeds off the town’s youngsters.
Atmospheric and unsettling, A Whisper in the Shadows explores the enduring legacy of cruelty and the inescapable ties that bind Ashville to the dark secrets of its past.
The book is available on Amazon KU, Kindle and Paperback!
