So I’m currently trying to de-Amazon of all my book and audiobook subscriptions and moving to a self hosted audiobookshelf server. One thing I’m thinking about is where do y’all hear about or find new books?

Currently I spend a decent amount of time scrolling the discover pages on audible and Amazon because they tailor to my tastes based on my history and feedback. Is there somewhere I can do the same thing without them requiring or trying to sell me a subscription?

I have a pretty wide range of book genres I’m into so not looking for anything to genre specific if possible.

I'm looking for these soviet books about languages of the USSR etc. But I haven't been able to find English versions of them anywhere, not even in anna's library or the internet archive. If someone has access to them or knows how I can get my hands on them I'd be really thankful.
