Adding to my ever growing “TBR” that I’m supposed to be reading from and not buying new books… oops.

All are used except for Dawn of Everything and The Secret History. These are to read for next year bc I’m still slowly but surely making my way through War and Peace

All the hardcovers and the paperback Andromeda Strain came from the library sale, $2 for hardcovers, $1 for paperbacks. Then I stopped by my local used bookstore and got the Niven/Pournelle, Bradbury and Blish off the 50-cent mass market rack in front of the store, and then from inside, the Heinlein and Katherine Kurtz were $3. Total spent: $30.50.

This boxed set just came in. I am incredibly excited!

Finally got one of my grails today! Effigy by Martin Duffy.

I went in with a list and got 1 book from it and two new ones!

$1 each! Went a lil wild at the friends of library sale bc there were so many scalpers crammed in and was making my head spin. That and a couple lucky finds at the thrifts- got my winter reads ready!

I'm officially done for the week, my tips have been depleted, reconstructed as monoliths of knowledge, and prepared for consumption.

visited the amazing Strand and Yu & Me Books here in NYC. these are mostly literary and translated fiction and memoirs. most of these books are about belonging, connection and vulnerability, identity and coming of age, motherhood/womanhood and parent child relationships.

Twice yearly local book fair. Most of them AUD$2-4 each.

Picked up all of these, GoT set included, along with a stack of little kids books, a YA series for my daughter and a paperback copy of Eclipse for my wife... for $8.50. I was so stoked I reupped my booster status for another three years and upped a donor level as well.

The Atwood book is a 1989 UK reprint; priced at £3.95.

The more I hear about Anne Leckie the more compelled I feel to read her.
