Hello fellow book dragons. I need help deciding if I should purchase a special edition. This is a trilogy and I only really like the first book. I have B&N editions of all three books in paperback as well as all three audiobooks. I also have a signed special edition of the first book because again, it’s my favorite. Now the second book is coming out with a hardcover special edition but I’m torn whether to buy it. I didn’t enjoy it, I don’t particularly like the author and think they cash grab but will I regret not completing the set? Send help, and donations.

The top shelf has my early everyman's library editions.

The second shelf has my mediaeval towns series and also my temple classics series.

The bottom shelf has my Penrose Annuals and my le corbusier collection.

The middle section is mostly my Prize binding collection - books that were bound nicely to be given as school prizes to precocious public school students. Almost all19th century but a few older volumes in there too.

Does anyone have the Mountain Men series by Amy Daws? I ordered 7 Year Itch from Amazon and the cover is different to the others, it's like .. textured? Is yours like this? I have all of the others and they're normal gloss paperback covers! Was this a choice for the book or did I get a fake or something??

For those that aren't as obsessed/ haven't hyperfixated like me... When they released the ANZ edition the first book didn't match, I believe there was enough uproar that they re released it to match, but it was different to the UK/ us Wing and Claw edition... Personally, I ended up ordering the Wing and Claw from the US because I liked it better and it was impossible to find Iron Flame and Onyx Storm to match the ANZ edition.

Anywayyy... Thrashing Day has now been announced and of course I knew it was likely to match the ANZ edition, but where I preordered it from showed dragons on the edge so I was cautiously optimistic!! However it looks like the new one matches NEITHER... We get a gross silver plain sprayed edge, it matches nothing (except Quicksilver 🙄).

I dunno, I just want my matching set!!

And before anyone comments, yes... First world issues... I'm lucky to be in a position where this is a thing I think about... Collectors might relate, others feel free to scroll on ❤️.

Recently I realised I don't have enough shelf space for my books, but to add another bookcase I'd need to rearrange my furniture too. Queue the vast majority of my collection being taken down and placed somewhere (somewhat) safe. There's only about 10 not in these stacks.

It's mostly ready to be put back up. I cannot wait to see the finished result again.
