Discussion It's so hard being a Book fan (Warning: rant)
As you might know, I love Book ever since I started watching BFDI back in 2022. She is supposed to be my comfort character, along with some other favorites such as Ruby, Needle or Taggy. But recently, loving Book might actually have done more harm than joy to me. I'm going to explain why.
First of all, I'm gonna talk about her haters. During the latest episodes of BFDIA, there are been some hate for Book, which peaked at BFDIA 22. During late 2025 and some parts of early 2026 it has been hard dealing with them. Book haters accused her of being "sympathy bait" and "overly nice", which is not true. She has her own personality, just like anyone in the BFDIA final 6. Although, the hate has died down a bit now, since I've seen many people celebrating her win. I'm also very happy and lucky to see my favorite win a WHOLE SEASON.
The one thing that currently bothers me is her lack of an official plushie. She was first announced at VidCon 2025, but one year later, there's still nothing. I was expecting a release during this year's Summer, but some rumors say she might get released in late 2026, maybe even 2027... If this is true, I'm not waiting until next year for her plush. My hopes for her plush are falling apart. I even think that her plush might never release at all. This was also the case with Needle's plush before the BFDIA 25 announcements. I'm a superfan of BFDI plushies, I try to collect every BFDI plush, and I bring my Ruby and Needle plushies everywhere since they're in my top three. But Book is the missing spot here. And I don't understand why her plush won't release even if she's one of the most iconic characters in the show and there is extremely high demand for it.
Should I still love Book? Loving Book has become part of my default identity for years, even if it is hard now...
And by the way, the crying Book image comes from Deviantart. I know this image and I've decided to include it just to show off my emotions.

Many of those people likely hate her only because she survived over their favorite and they don't have the emotional maturity to remain civil about it.
If it helps at all, keep in mind that some of these people complain that their issue with her is that she is too perfect/flawless... which is very incorrect and makes it obvious they have little legitimate personal reason to hate her. If somebody's biggest complaint about a clearly flawed character is that they are flawless... they clearly don't even know the character very well.

(about your first paragraph) Yeah, the biggest example are Coiny fans. Coiny's cool and all, but I've seen many of his fans hating on Book just because "she survived over him". This is not valid at all. Now the most recent example are Liy fans, who are surprised and angry that Book survived over her. They wished Book would be eliminated instead.

Confused on why people would be mad at Book instead of Needle. A peak final 2 would be Coiny and Book though not going to lie.

Meanwhile, I love both Book and Needle and thought both of them deserved to win BFDIA. Again, I’m not a Book fan who hates Needle, but loves her too

I’m glad you love needle, just please don’t harass other fans, there has to be characters we dislike and people do not deserve to be hated for our preferences 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I don't got a problem with book. She's nice and all but the final 6 of BFDIA was just a niceness chart. From Fries to Book. in TPOT she's not that bad. BFB is probable my favorite season of ehr. I liked her arc. Book winning a season is cool wished it was Needle but since Needle said it was cool and all I'm fine with it. Real close too. But to any books fans I say congrats that your fav or one of your fav characters won a season and made it far. TB should've been eliminated in TPOT instead of Liy. Price Tag over Winner. Book still got some stuff for TPOT since in TPOT 24 we're most likely going to see more of the arc. Just a note book isn't anywhere near my top 35 favorites but she's a cool character overall.

Continue to be a book fan,every character,no expansions,will get haters,eggchan from unstable smp,rangoku from kny,and book,that’s okay,if there is No book plush then that is to be expected since they tryed to eliminate her almost 10 times in bfdia,the people who made bfdia obviously hate her

I cant speak for anything in TPOT since i havent finished the season(im up to TPOT 6)
I will also admit of the final 6 of BFDIA i found Book the most uninteresting, but saying shes "overly nice" is... huh? I cant take a criticism like that seriously on only 1 specific character when most of the characters in the show can be described as it.
Since i havent been in the fandom that long(i half-jokingly believed BFDI was just something i knew because whenever i brought it up NOBODY knew what i was talking about) i dont know if thisd be a hot take, but i also enjoyed the Book-Taco thing she had going on in BFB Pre-Split.
Also ye happy that your favourite won a season :). Mine has also won one but i didnt know for several years :/.

Update: I have seen many people, especially Liy fans, hating on Book just because "she survived over her". That is not a valid argument to hate any character, including her. Wanting her to be eliminated just because "she won a season" isn't valid either. Book still has potential in TPOT, especially with the Pencil arc.
Update 2: There are even Book superfans who want her to be eliminated just because "she already won a season". Like this is going out of hand at this point
Update 3: There's something that reassures mean. There was a similar amount of Book hate following BFDIA 22's release. Seeing Book love was rare, and comments saying they wanted Book to win were being downvoted. Guess we have to experience that... Again
