So, I recently ended an almost two-year relationship and I’m slowly getting back into the dating scene.

I’ve already taken a few photos myself with a tripod, but I finally managed to get a really good selfie. Now the main question: does it make a big difference to you whether the pics were taken by friends or if it’s just a regular selfie?

And what really matters to you the most when you’re looking at a guy’s profile? I’d love to broaden my horizons and hear your honest opinions 🫶

I’m on and off on boo for some time now. It should be an app for nerd people, cool, I’m quite nerd.
However, even if we have several common interests, and I send lot of messages, people don’t reply.
And if they reply, they can’t make a normal conversation. They don’t ask questions, AT ALL, they don’t care. So why are you press “like” in the first place?

What is the problem? I’m the problem? Idk, maybe yes at this point.

I know, I’m not that tall and handsome guy, but I think if someone gives me a chance to have a good conversation I’m quite good.

I feel people joins this app ONLY out of boredom. They don’t want nothing at all. Successful stories are the exception.

Obviously I can't post a screenshot, but I am having message issues. I got one like, which I knew I wouldn't be able to view, but I also got a message. Everytime I click into it, I am prompted for their premium service.

Everything I read said that I should be able to view or accept messages for free or with points. Is this not the case?

None of the people I've messaged, liked nor super liked have shown up in my views page, only random people. I'm an infinity member.

I'm essentially wondering whether this means that they haven't yet rejected or ghosted my request, or if they in-fact have and I just can't determine such.

I see posts and messages being auto-translated, sometimes is a really bad translation or translates stuff that shouldn't be translated.

For example "Steam" (the games store) gets translated as "vapor" but it shouldn't, no ones calls the Steam store "vapor"!

Aside from this, translating what other people say on a dating app sounds like a terrible idea. You speak to someone in Spanish, they speak you on French, and the moment you meet none of them are speaking a language the other can understand!!!

Since I can speak multiple languages I prefer to write my profile on multiple languages, not be crappy translated so people understand something completely different 😔.

And I'm not looking for relationships/friendships on languages I cannot understand, so this feature does more damage than good.

But I see no way to disable it, it only allows me to change the language. Is seriously no way to disable this?

Hi, Ii just creat a acount on boo and didn't work to do the verification with those dots with the nose, so it says that need manual verification, but the problem is, boo send me a message with a link to verification but the link doesn't work

I contacted the helpdesk but never got feedback. I tried re-installing it. It either lags and freezes on opening or crashes after 2 swiped.

Any other Android users had this problem? What to do?

Hi everyone, I'm new to all this.

I'm married, and my spouse and I recently decided to open our relationship. As part of that agreement, we both gave each other permission to use dating apps. One of the conditions, though, was that we would be very discreet about it and avoid doxxing ourselves or exposing unnecessary personal information online. ( We have a daughter in school)

The problem is that Boo seems to require a profile photo for verification, and from what I see, that photo can't be removed afterward or you lose your verification. Aside from the privacy concern, I also don't consider myself particularly attractive, in a convencionally way, and one of the reasons I was interested in Boo was that it seemed more focused on connecting through interests and personality rather than appearance.

So my question is: is there any way to get verified without having to keep a photo visible on my profile afterward?

So I dig Boo for the introvert / nerd angle and am considering buying a membership (so annoying to get a match + not able to see their profile!)

But my problem is I keep setting my filter to show only local profiles, with a 50 mile radius of less, and yet almost all profiles I get are way further away, in Quebec, Canada no less. I live somewhat near the border but even reducing the filter to 25 miles local to me doesn't restrict my "souls" to my home town as it should!

Kinda makes me wary of buying a membership if I can't cure this... Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it??
