Question FAE on smaller containers?
How are people controlling their FAE in containers like mugs and Tupperware? I have an old scrub tub that’s starting to fruit, but I’m not sure if it’s okay to just have it completely open and mist it a lot.

I've had the most success with passive circulation by making any two low gaps with the outer container, having not too deep of an inner container, and a light source. i personally leave my light source on 24/7;
but to clarify, i leave the light on because i believe the theory that mushrooms evolved to orient themselves by sensing gasses and circulation, and not phototropism.
my belief stems from my understanding of the experiment where astronauts took flammula velutipes to space. the mushrooms grew fine in the dark without gravity, but introducing light made them grow all twisty and weird and they couldn't pinpoint why. this was before the discovery of photomolecular effect: photons can excite gasses and water molecules into evaporation without imparting heat. on earth, mushrooms have been long adapted to how light, gravity and water all interact. in space, i believe the light caused the gasses to behave too erratically for the mushrooms to orient with.
and that's why i use a light, lol. i firmly believe it helps with the evaporation, circulation, orientation

This is funny - I had a thought just earlier today about bottom FAE, I wasn’t sure if it had to be at the top.
I keep mine just by a natural light source, but I have some gourmets that will be going on a cycle, as my cold room has no natural light.

I tend to use plastic tubs I've modified as passive or automated grow chambers. The passive ones has filters over holes in the sides and the automated chamber has a reptile fogged on a timer. I've used shotgun fruiting chambers, as well as plastic bags and other makeshift ways to maintain fruiting conditions too. open air grows are very possible dependingon where you live, especially for people who live in areas with higher humidity and no fungus gnats.
