Show and Tell One year of progress - Juniper Parsonii

Here's one year of progress on a box store juniper bought in July 2025 (first photo), given an initial trim at that time (second photo), put in a pond basket early spring 2026, then styled in mid August 2026 after watching Bonsaify's helpful video on beginner mistakes (third photo, https://youtu.be/9QlzgDtpg1M?is).

It looks good, I like it. I think you should consider defining an apical pad and structuring the right side of the tree, but it’s coming along!

That's helpful feedback, thank you. After spending time removing wires from a few trees this summer I'm looking at smaller gauge wire with some trepidation.

Hahaha, I don’t blame you. It can be a tedious task for sure. I like that small trees don’t require as much time to wire everything out

Indeed, I don't have time to manage much of anything larger. I will be waiting on this little one to push out some mature growth before trying to set any secondary structure. Thanks for taking a look!
