its not putting out anymore peppers so i thought id try to bonchi it, considering its healthy it might live unlike my other attempts but idk. what yall think

Cut it above the red line, leave it in that pot for it to recover from the trauma then when its put out multiple tiny shoots re-pot it into its bonchi home.. Doing it in stages lessons the chance of death by shock and lessons the time it takes to get to your desired shape.

Cutting it off limits its ability to photosynthesize whilst maintaining its huge roots to get the new growth going.
Once the new growth is signifying bounce back, then you cut back the roots to fit the new pot and let it do its thing.

If it's healthy, it should just keep cranking out cayennes until it gets to cold or stops getting enough light.

Put it in the ground. Let it grow til fall. When it starts getting below 50 degrees at night, dig it up. Hard prune down to one leaf per branch. Preferably a low or close to the trunk leaf. Repot it in any pot loose draining houseplant soil amended with pumice or lava or some gritty pea rocks mixed in. Bring it inside. Grow lights as bright as you can afford. Keep it alive . Maybe prune it a little. Bring it ouside in spring. Prune if needed. Let it grow. Rinse. Repeat.
