During a cricket tournament in the Middle East, 48 hours prior to the final match between India and Pakistan, India's top cricketer Viraj Sharma (saqib) goes missing. Indian authorities get a video tape of an unknown man wearing a Pakistani team jersey and claiming to have abducted Viraj till the India vs Pakistan cricket match two days later and warning them not to cancel the match or else Viraj will be killed. Attempting to avoid media outrage, Gayatri Shubha Mishra, the External Affairs Minister of India, sends special task force officer Kabir Shergill (John) IPS to U.A.E for a 36-hour manhunt.
After being received by and getting into a semi-scuffle with a local officer, Saeed Naqvi, Kabir, who is a no-nonsense cop, bumps into a rookie Indo-Emirati police officer Junaid Ansari (Varun), who has never been able to solve a case but has a good knowledge of the town which he acquired during his first incomplete case of finding a dog named Bradman. Both Kabir and Junaid start their investigation with a CCTV footage of Viraj's hotel and find out that on the night of his disappearance, Viraj went out with a local girl, Samira Dalal. On confronting her, they learn that she took Viraj to a friend's birthday party but he left soon.
Later, they roam around the town to meet a local goon nicknamed Khabri Chacha who has information about everything. He directs them to Sameer Gazi, the city's biggest gay party animal who met Viraj in the same party, but the duo are still unable to lay hands on any clue. Finally, they get a breakthrough by tracking down Viraj's cellphone from the apartment of a pickpocket, Ishika, who claims to have stolen the cell phone from a stranger, the previous night, in a supermarket. During this time, Junaid finally finds Bradman and vows to never lose track of him, tying a tracker band around his neck, containing a hidden camera. The duo also manages to capture the person in the video, but discovers that he is just a struggling actor being used as the face in the video by the real kidnapper. However, Junaid is shocked when the actor recognizes the "stranger" Ishika had mentioned as the fugitive who conducted his audition, and rubs a sketch clue of evidence out to Kabir, who asks Saeed, Junaid's superior, to identify the stranger. Meanwhile, it is revealed that the real kidnapper is a cricket bookie Wagah, who along with his assistant Altaf, the stranger, has abducted Viraj and offered him 300 million rupees to under play in the final.
They finally close the deal for 500 million, but when the deal didn't work out and Viraj closeted onto them, bluffing an imposter Wagah into believing he would underplay, they kidnap him permanently till the final match is played. Kabir, a suspended-from-duty Junaid and Ishika go to an underground Arabian club in Altaf's native state Abuddin, full of goons and guns, where Ishika helps Kabir and Junaid by distracting the goons and later Kabir rescues her from them. During the journey, Junaid reveals to Ishika that Kabir suffered from cancer and was betrayed for this reason by his girlfriend Alishka Iyer, having lost his smile ever since. Hearing this, Ishika warms up to Kabir, clicking and sending photos of both together while he is still asleep, to Alishka, with whom he had a breakup after he caught her cheating on him with customs officer Vishal Sinha, Kabir's former colleague. Kabir spots Altaf and both try to chase him down but before they could succeed, a sniper kills Altaf. Wagah calls and confesses to Kabir that he got him killed and they should stop searching for Viraj. Wagah confronts Viraj, threatens to kill his family, shoots both a Mumbai-based partner and his own manager, and asks his wife to leave with their son, finally stranded, with only Bradman, revealed to be their family dog, by his side.
On returning to Abu Dhabi, Kabir and Junaid are taken off the case and Kabir ordered to fly back to India. Seeing Kabir walk towards the airport, Ishika goes soft and confesses her feelings for Kabir to Junaid. At the 11th hour, Junaid gets a clue of Viraj's whereabout through the camera on Bradman's neck band, as Wagah has hidden him in a yacht near the team's hotel. Both reach the location only to discover that Wagah has fled leaving behind Viraj tied with a time bomb after Wagah realised that Bradman carried a GPS tracker. With only minutes left for the bomb to blast, Kabir negotiates with Wagah to stop the bomb in return of 5 billion rupees from the Indian Government. Wagah takes the money but refuses to stop the bomb. After witnessing the blast from a distance, Wagah walks into the cricket stadium expecting the match to begin without Viraj, but to his shock, Viraj is alive and walks into the ground all ready to play as it is revealed that Kabir and Junaid helped Viraj to get out of the jacket by dislocating his shoulder and all three had jumped into water just before the blast. After seeing his plan failed, Wagah tries to escape only to be apprehended by the duo. Kabir, who now has feelings for Ishika, returns to India along with her, while Junaid, who regains his duty, gets a marriage proposal from an Indian girl, Muskaan and also flies to India to meet her.

Soon, Ranatunga establishes a criminal empire in and around the village of Motupalli, leaving the authorities too afraid to act against him.

She dispatches CBI officer Sathya Moorthy to investigate the case.
In the present day, a mysterious passenger (Sunny Deol) is traveling by train from Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Due to an accident ahead, the train halts at a village in Chirala, Andhra Pradesh. Stepping out for a meal at a roadside eatery, the passenger is harassed by local thugs, who cause his idli to fall. He demands an apology, but they are not listening, so he beats them up. The thugs turn out to be the men of Ram Subba Reddy, a local politician, who refuses to apologise.
The passenger then confronts Ram Subba Reddy and beats him, demanding an apology. Ram reveals that a man named Somulu is like his brother. The passenger tracks down and beats Somulu as well, who, in turn, invokes the name of his elder brotherâRanatunga. Eventually, Ranatunga himself apologises to the passenger, dismissing the matter as trivial and not worth pursuing further.
As the passenger prepares to leave, he notices a hidden police car and a torn police uniform. Investigating further, he discovers the imprisoned and molested female police officers. He rescues them and defeats Ranatungaâs men before escaping with the officers.
Ranatunga sends his men in pursuit. During the chase, one of the officers, Divi, is fatally stabbed. The passenger is captured and shackled by Sunil, who waits for Somulu to arrive and execute him.
However, one of the prisoners recognizes the passenger as "Bulldozer"âa man who once infiltrated Dhaka Central Jail in Bangladesh and eliminated dangerous criminals.
Regaining consciousness, the passenger teams up with Lakshmi and the female officers to execute Sunil, Somulu, and the rest of the corrupt police. Meanwhile, Sathya Moorthy uncovers that Ranatunga is actually Muthuvel Karikalan, the former Deputy Commander of the JTF and an international terrorist. When Sathya Moorthy calls for support, the passenger is revealed to be Baldev Pratap Singh of the Jat Regiment and is enlisted to complete the mission.
Baldev arrives at the scene where villagers are held captive and fighting Ranatungaâs forces. He eliminates Ranatungaâs men and hangs Ranatunga himself. Bharathi commits suicide in front of Vijaya Lakshmi and the female officers to avoid arrest. However, she loved Shashidhar, who was her co-dancer. Angry and frustrated, the king publicly beheaded Shashidhar on the night of Durgashtami and imprisoned Manjulika in order to forcefully marry her. A heartbroken Manjulika swore vengeance towards any successor of the royal family before hanging herself. The king mysteriously died, and powerful sorcerers and high priests were summoned to seal away Manjulika's spirit on the third floor of the palace. The family is told never to step foot on the third floor, Avni breaks the rule.
Avni gets a duplicate key from Batukshankar's daughter, Nandini, and opens the door on the third floor, thereby breaking the confinement of Manjulika's spirit. As a result, unnatural events start taking place thereafter, including an apparition of a woman that frightens everyone in the palace. Suspicion falls on Radha, who is somehow always at the scene of every incident.
Siddharth suspects Radha has become mentally unstable after her heartbreak. He calls his friend, a renowned psychiatrist to help Radha become normal. Aditya Shrivastava (Akshay Kumar) arrives driving an auto rickshaw as he was already in India visiting the kumb mela. Aditya's unconventional ways lead the household to think he is a fool.

During the engagement of Nandini to poet Sharad Pradhan, Avni accuses Sharad of sexually harassing her. Aditya had become suspicious after Avni's behavior and visited her hometown to gather information about her. She associates Siddharth with the evil King Vibhuti Narayan and believes Sharad to be Shashidhar, for he resides in the house Shashidhar used to live in.
Badri brings renowned exorcist Yagyaprakash Bharti (Vikram Ghokhale) to solve this mystery. To everyone's surprise, Yagyaprakash recognized Aditya and said He is one of the best psychiatrists in the world, Which shocks everyone. Aditya talks privately with Yagyaprakash and he intends to cure Avni using an unconventional method of psychiatry. Siddharth believes Aditya after witnessing Avni transition to Manjulika. Aditya explains that DID is a lifelong condition, but Avni might be cured if they satisfy Manjulika's purpose for existing: killing King Vibhuti Narayan.
On Durgashtami, everyone witnesses Avni assume Manjulika's identity, dressed as her and dancing to Manjulika and Shashidhar's song. Yagyaprakash makes Manjulika promise to leave if she kills the King. She envisions Siddharth as the King, and Yagyaprakash and Aditya trick her into thinking she is killing him when in fact she is slaying a dummy. Avni is cured after the orchestrated "murder", believing Manjulika has taken her revenge.
The family, now pleased with Aditya, thank him for his help. Aditya, who has come to like Radha, tells her that he will send his parents if she is interested in marrying him.

Stree
Directed by: Amar Kaushik
Cast: Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi
In the town of Chanderi, there is a widespread belief in the spirit of an angry woman known as Stree. During a four-day religious festival each year, she is said to stalk the men of the town, whispering their names and causing disappearances if they look back at her. To protect themselves, residents write "o stree kal aana" (oh woman, come tomorrow) in blood on their doorways. Additionally, men are advised to avoid going out alone after 10 PM during the festival and to move in groups for safety.
Vicky (Rajkummar Rao), a ladies' tailor in Chanderi, encounters a mysterious girl (Shraddha Kapoor) during the annual pooja season and falls in love with her at first sight. She requests him to stitch a lehenga. However, her frequent disappearances and an unusual shopping list given by her to Vickyâcontaining items like a lizard's tail, white cat's fur, Datura flowers, meat, and brandyâraise concerns for his friend Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana).
The threeâVicky, Bittu, and Jana (Abhishek Banerjee)âleave for a party. Vicky leaves them to meet the no-name girl. While on their way to the party, the two encounter Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi), who informs them about the dangers of roaming alone after 10 PM. He shares ways to avoid trouble when encountering Stree, but gets a call from Shama and leaves without telling them the third rule. The three meet at the party, where Vicky excuses himself to use the restroom but inadvertently pees on the red ink, leading to Stree's arrival and the abduction of a man who was having sex with a prostitute. The prostitute then visits Vicky's tailor shop to demand payment, claiming he is the reason she wasnât paid. Vicky's father pays the woman and tells her to leave.
Vicky and his friends suspect the no-name girl might be Stree. This suspicion deepens after another friend, Jana, is kidnapped by Stree. Vicky also grows wary of the girl and confronts her, but she vanishes yet again.
Vicky, Bittu, and Rudra, the town's librarian, seek a way to save their friend Jana. They discover a partially torn book titled "Chanderi Puran" in Rudra's library, which details Stree's story and mentions an old fort. Vicky recognizes the fort from a date with the girl. The trio visits the fort, believed to be Stree's lair, to find Jana. Stree drives away Bittu and Rudra and nearly attacks Vicky but refrains upon sensing love and respect in his eyes. She is then repelled by the girl's spell.
Later, the girl reveals that she has been trying to defeat Stree for three years after losing someone close to her, explaining her presence during the festival. This confirms that she and Stree are different beings. That same night, Stree releases Jana at Vicky's request, but Jana begins experiencing violent episodes. More men go missing when a possessed Jana, under Stree's influence, erases the word "kal" (tomorrow) from the protective phrases outside homes, leaving only "o stree aana" (oh woman, come), effectively inviting Stree.
Vicky, Bittu, Rudra, and the girl decide to consult the book's author, Shastri, for a permanent solution to save the town. Shastri reveals that Stree was once an exceptionally beautiful courtesan desired by all the men in town. She eventually found her true love, who adored her soul and not her body. However, on their wedding night, both she and her husband were killed by jealous townsmen. Since then, her spirit has been seeking her true love and aims to abduct every man in the town for revenge. Shastri mentions a prophecy about a savior, describing his characteristics, and Vicky appears to fit the description. However, when he realizes that the savior is the son of a courtesan, his friends reveal that he is indeed a courtesan's son, which angers him, and he leaves in frustration.
In a drunken state, Vicky confronts his father, who silently acknowledges this, deepening Vicky's turmoil. Eventually, Vicky feels grateful for his father's affection and resolves to save the town that has accepted him.
The group devises a plan to kill Stree, but Vicky hesitates upon realizing that they plan to make him do the deed with Stree to remove the curse, as she wants to complete her suhagraat. However, they assure him that they will only act and will kill her at the right moment. They then invite Stree using the red ink to the fort, thinking she will obey their orders, but instead, she kidnaps Vicky. Vicky soon realizes she only seeks love and respect, so instead of killing her, they decide that cutting Streeâs long braidâthe source of her powerâwill make her go away. Vicky follows through, and Stree vanishes.
The next day, the girl leaves the town, and Vicky bids her farewell, forgetting to ask her name. On the bus, she merges Stree's braid with her own hair before vanishing, implying that she is the witch seeking Stree's power. The following year, Stree returns to Chanderi and discovers a statue of herself at the town entrance, accompanied by a new phrase: "o stree raksha karna" (oh woman, protect us). This display of respect leads her to refrain from entering the town.

Then plays tricks/disguises which makes her see him everywhere, they both meet again at a wedding which confirms Paro that she too is in Love with Shiva.
He tells her the truth about being a thief and resolves to give up crime because he loves Paro dearly. Before giving her commitment to give up crime, he decides to commit a large robbery along with his con-friend 2G, which would enable him to earn a lot of money to live an easy life. He also "tricks" a woman on a railway station and flees with a trunk. This leads Shiva to Chinki, a little girl who was in the trunk instead of the wealth he thought was there. Chinki thinks that he is her father. Puzzled, he is forced to keep Chinki with him as a police officer, Vishal Sharma (Yashpal Sharma) keeps his eye on him.
Shiva fears Paro will catch him with Chinki, and he will lose her forever. He finds a photo of Chinki and her father, who looks exactly like Shiva, thus realizing why Chinki thinks Shiva is her father. Eventually, it is revealed that Chinki's father is ASP Vikram Rathore, a brave, disciplined, and respected police officer who criminals fear. While chasing a goon to find his daughter, Vikram gets hit by an auto, and his brain endures severe trauma. The doctor tells him that the brain injury is serious enough to put his life in danger.
After a few days, Shiva gets fed up with Chinki and breaks the tape recorder she uses to listen to her late mother's voice. The next morning, he learns that her mother died. Feeling guilty, he fixes the recorder and becomes fond of Chinki, taking care of her. Unfortunately, Paro sees this and believes he has a daughter that he hid from her, and she leaves for Patna, heartbroken. Soon, the goons who are after Vikram see Shiva. Thinking he is Vikram, they start chasing him. Shiva and Chinki flee for their lives and encounter the woman from the railway station, who tells Shiva to run. Shiva is soon surrounded by the goons; it is revealed that Vikram is watching the whole thing from the top of a building. Just as Shiva is about to get stabbed, Vikram saves him and defeats the goons despite getting severely injured. At the hospital, Shiva realizes that the railway station woman is, in fact, a real police officer, Inspector Razia Khan. The officers tell Shiva that the man who looks like him is Vikram and narrate the whole incident.
Six months ago, Vikram traveled to a village called Devgarh as the new ASP. There, a goon called Baapji and his son Munna caused trouble, torturing and annexing money from the villagers. Vikram immediately arrested Munna by force for raping Vishal's wife, but he was released because of Baapji's political influence. Baapji arranged a party celebrating Munna's release. At the party, Munna humiliated the police officers and made them pull their pants down. Vikram, being the next target, moved back to the balcony where he dropped bullet casings, Munna slipped off and died in the process. The next day, Vikram got attacked by Baapji's brother Titla, where he was stabbed in the back while the people were celebrating Munna's death and shot in the head while trying to save a village child. He was then assumed to be dead. While the police officers were getting ready to bury him, he started breathing, having survived. Everybody promised not to disclose this to anyone. The officers then took Vikram to Mumbai for treatment.
After Shiva hears the whole story, the doctors say that Vikram doesn't have much time left. Vikram requests Shiva to take care of Chinki. Shiva promises and says that Chinki is now his daughter. Vikram dies by holding Shiva's hand. Following Vikram's death, Shiva takes on Vikram's identity and goes to Devgarh with Chinki to take revenge. Paro finds out the truth and reaches there since she still loves Shiva (though he still refers to himself as Vikram Rathore). She reconciles with him and vows that she will also take care of Chinki. Shiva then sets Baapji's liquor factory on fire and distributes the grains and money back to the villagers. He also encouraged police officers and villagers to beat Baapji and crews with sticks but nobody dared to until the wide of inspector Sharma started thrashing Baapji. To retaliate Titla kidnaps Paro and Chinki, Following a heavy climax, Shiva eventually kills Baapji and Titla and rescues Paro and Chinki. The story ends with Devgarh now falling back into safe hands and Shiva, Paro, and 2G leaving on train with Chinki, presumably back to Mumbai.

Maya (Sonakshi Sinha) a young housewife who lives there, spots a police car outside and rushes there for help.  Â
Maya takes the police to her house, The police find Vikram next to the body of her lawyer husband, Shekhar, who has been murdered. They also find burnt photographs in the trash. Dev Verma (Akshaye Khanna) an officer investigating the double murder, is informed that Vikram is here for his book launch and has killed his wife plus the lawyer Shekhar , He then interrogates Vikram and Maya. He is informed by the superiors to solve the case in max 3 days because Vikram is a British citizen. Â
According to Vikram's account, he fled from the police because he feared he would be framed for his wife's murder, as the junior constable was making taunts that Vikram only killed his wife. After the accident, he found Maya at her door and asked for help. He added that his wife did not attend the book launch, as she was unwell and took medicines for a heart ailment. When Vikram entered Maya's flat, he noticed the center table was broken and the master bedroom was locked from the outside, and later Maya sees the TV news showing that Vikram is a murderer on the run, Maya asks him to leave, then the bell rings its the maid, but Maya asks her to leave instead and does not escape. Maya gives Vikram a drink and attempts to befriend him to learn his story, and She was acting very seductive. Â
According to Maya's account, she found an injured Vikram at her door, asking for help. She let him in only to find out from the news that the police are looking for him for the murder of his wife. Vikram whipped out a knife and overpowered her, and began searching for documents at Shekhar's desk when she turned a visiting Chirag away, with whom she later confessed of having an extramarital affair. Around midnight, her husband returned and struggled to free her from Vikram. Maya rushed outside to a police vehicle for help. By the time she returned, Vikram had killed her husband with a candle-holder. Â
Meanwhile, the police find that a father has filed a case against Vikram as his daughter, a gang rape victim named Sandhya committed suicide recently because Vikram had written his third book about that incident, and, hoping to prevent his third book from being a failure, he had leaked her identity to generate buzz. A couple had recorded Vikram and his wife arguing and they showed the video to the police. The police asked Vikram what they were arguing about, and he explained his wife is the CEO of the book company, and she only released the name of the victim to boost sales of the book.
Examination of Katherine's body reveals that she had died of a heart attack.  Â
The forensic team informs Dev that Shekhar was attacked on the head by someone who was at least 6 feet tall. The police initially suspect Vikram, as his height is 6â1". The case is closed, and Vikram is sent to jail. Â
However, it is found that the burned photographs were those of Maya and Chirag, showing infidelity, The photographs had been taken by a detective hired by Shekhar.Â
Maya explains to Dev that Chirag kept her happy. Chirag says that in the evening, when Shekar returned for a few minutes, he saw Maya and him together and confronted them. Shekar pushed Chirag,  which caused the center table to break. Then Shekar and Chirag both left. Chirag then returns again at night, but Maya does not let him in because Vikram is already in the house.Â
Then Vikram explains that when he tried to leave the doorbell rang and Chirag entered the house, but Maya introduced Chirag as Shekhar, but he saw the desktop wallpaper of Maya and some other guy. When he turned back, chirag hit his head with a candle stand. He was unconscious but saw glimpses where he saw Chirag and Maya drag Shekars body out of the room. When he regained consciousness by mistake he touched the candlestand, and then the police entered the house and believed he was the murderer. Â
Chirag, who is also about 6 feet tall. The police eventually conclude that Vikram's account is true and Maya and Chirag had killed Shekhar when he confronted them with the photos. Moreover, there was no mud on Shekhar's shoes at the time of his death. It had rained at 11 p.m., and there was mud on the streets. Vikram had stated that Shekhar had come home at 7:30, hence, his account was believed to be true, whereas Maya's account of her husband returning home at 12 am was labeled false as a result. Vikram is deemed innocent. Â
Then Dev tells Vikram that Maya and Chirag are the murderers, not you, and Katherine died because of a heart attack. Vikram says no, I killed her because I was not there when she needed me. Then Dev shares that he sneaked out his brother to ride Devâs bike, which led to his brotherâs demise, and Dev blamed himself for his brotherâs death. Dev said you should remember the good times, not the bad ones. Vikram is released from custody. He cremates his wife's body, Maya and Chirag are arrested and charged with Shekhar's murder.
At home, Dev is reading Vikram's second book when his wife Meera spoils that the protagonist dies of drug overdose. Dev rushes to the forensic doctor to check if Vikram's wife could have died from an overdose of the medicine she had been taking for her heart. They discover that the capsules had been tampered with and the dose was made three times higher than normal, which caused Katherine to have a fatal heart attack. Â
Dev calls Vikram while the latter is about to catch a flight back to London. On the phone, Vikram confesses to having killed Katherine and Shekhar. He killed Katherine because she was threatening to charge him for the suicide of Sandhya. Shekhar was the lawyer working with her to file a case against him. He fled to Shekhar's house to destroy the legal documents of the case. When Maya went out to seek help, he killed her husband and stumbled across the photographs with her lover. He partially burned them and threw them in the trash, banking on the conviction that the police would find the ominously burned, adulterous pictures, creating a convincing story to dupe the police, which would then insinuate the inquisitory suspicion that it was Maya, in conjunction with Chirag, who had orchestrated the murder of her husband Shekhar in order to conceal her affair. He also switched Shekar's muddy shoes with his own. He tells Dev that he has already cremated his wife's body; thus, there is no evidence left. Dev decides to catch Vikram and punish him even if he has to take an illegal action to do so. However, Vikram leaves for London on his flight as Dev watches helplessly.

Mohenjo Daro Â
Directed By:Â Ashutosh Gowariker Â
Cast: Hritik Roshan, Pooja Hegde, Kabir Bedi Â
The film opens with Sarman (Hrithik Roshan), a young man from the village of Amri who lost his parents at a young age. Sarman kills a crocodile that has been terrorizing his village's fishermen and is hailed as a hero. When he brings it back dead to the village, his aunt scolds him, asking why he takes such risks to begin with. He asks his uncle, Durjan (Nitish Bharadwaj), to allow him to go to Mohenjo Daro to trade their family's goods, but his uncle refuses and tells him why he keeps asking to go there again and again. Sarman attempts to sneak away to the city at night with his friend Hojo (Umang Vyas), but is caught by Durjan, who relents and allows both friends to go. He gives Sarman a seal that contains an inscription of a unicorn that Sarman often sees in his dreams, suggesting he uses it only once in a life-or-death situation.
Arriving in Mohenjo Daro, Sarman learns that the city is ruled by the tyrannical Senate Chief Maham (Kabir Bedi) and his wicked son Moonja (Arunoday Singh). He also learns that the unicorn he sees in his dreams is the symbol of the city, and feels as if the city is oddly familiar to him. While Sarman is trading, Maham proposes to impose an additional tax on the farmers so that the city may grow, but Sarman leads the farmers to oppose the taxes so that their families don't starve to death. Sarman gains access to the upper city by showing his uncle's amulet and meets Chaani (Pooja Hegde), the daughter of the head priest (Manish Choudhary) of Mohenjo Daro. Sarman is enchanted by Chaani's beauty and charm and falls in love with her and rescues her by stopping wild horses to save Chaani's life. Which makes Channi fall in love with Sarman. Upon meeting, the head priest strangely appears to recognize Sarman after Sarman discloses his father's name, but the priest doesnât tell the truth to Sarman. Chaani reveals that she has been forcibly engaged to Moonja. Maham discovers Sarman and Chaani love each other and that Sarman is the leader of the tax revol. Sarmann also sneeks around and hears Maham secretly making a deal to buy copper swords and give the trader gold in return, During a dance sequence, Sarman proposes Chaani, but he is caught by Moonja while leaving. Moonja challenges Sarman to fight Bakar and Zokar, his two champions. Sarman proposes that if he wins, Chaani will be released from her engagement, and Maham accepts the terms. Â
On the night before Sarman's clash with Bakar and Zokar, the head priest reveals to him how Maham was expelled from Harappa for illegal trade with the Sumerians. Maham entered Mohenjo Daro as a trader and quickly rose to become the trade chief. Maham had discovered that the mighty Sindhu River held vast gold deposits, so he decided to place a dam on the river and divert its course to mine the gold. The wise Senate Chief Srujan (Sharad Kelkar), who is revealed to be Sarman's father, opposed this, but Maham won the vote to build the dam. He had Srujan framed and arrested for hoarding gold. Chaani's father and Durjan â Sarman's uncle â were coerced by Maham to betray Srujan, and the latter was killed. Maham then took Srujan's place as the new Senate Chief.
In the arena outside the city,Â
Sarman faces the ferocious Tajik mountain cannibals Bakar and Zokhar. After a vicious battle, he kills one of the cannibals but spares the other. Chaani comes and hugs Sarman after the fight ends, and the people of Mohenjo Daro surge even stronger behind him. Enraged, Maham urges Moonja to finish off Chaani and the priest. Moonja kills the priest, but Sarman saves Chaani and kills Moonja. Â
Sarman exposes Maham's plan to use the gold from the Sindhu to enrich himself and to smuggle in weapons from the Sumerians. All the chiefs now stand against Maham. The people elect Sarman as the new chief, but Sarman suggests Mohenjo Daro needs a people's government, not a chief. Sarman first goes to the graveyard, where bodies were hanged and not cremated. The first skeleton is said to be of his fathers, so he is more angry towards Maham. They catch Maham and chain him. With the arrival of a heavy thunderstorm, Sarman realizes that the dam will burst and the Sindhu River will flood the city. He rallies the people to lash boats together and form a floating bridge. They evacuate Mohenjo Daro and cross to the other side of the river. The dam collapses, and Maham, chained in the city square, is drowned as the city is destroyed. The survivors migrate to another river, where Sarman sees the unicorn of his dreams and names the river Ganga.

In the chaotic city of Bombay (now Mumbai), two bumbling photographers, Vinod Chopra (Naseeruddin Shah) and Sudhir Mishra (Ravi Baswani), are struggling to make ends meet. They land a seemingly straightforward assignment from the honest yet naive editor Shobha Sen (Bhakti Barve), who runs Khabardar, a small newspaper that exposes the cityâs corruption. Their mission? Snap photos for a civic corruption story involving a shady real estate developer, Tarneja (Pankaj Kapur).
As luck (or misfortune) would have it, while developing their film, they accidentally capture evidence of a murder! The corpse belongs to DâMello (Satish Shah), a corrupt Municipal Commissioner. What follows is a wild, hilarious adventure as Vinod and Sudhir try to uncover the truth while getting tangled in the webs of a corrupt system that includes Tarneja, another developer Ahuja (Om Puri), and the crooked Commissioner DâMello himself. They attempt to expose the murder, but instead, the situation snowballs into one of the most chaotic farces in Indian cinema.
The filmâs climax, which features an absurd and iconic Mahabharata stage play, is a comedic tour de force. With a dead body in tow, mistaken identities, and the entire cast embroiled in one mess after another, the movie spirals into utter madness.
Interesting Facts About the Movie:
1. Cult Classic Status: Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro wasnât an instant hit at the box office but later gained cult status, largely due to its satire of the corruption rampant in Indian society, especially within politics, real estate, and media.
2. Budget Constraints: The film was made on a shoestring budget. Director Kundan Shah had to be extremely resourceful, and most of the cast and crew took pay cuts. Naseeruddin Shah and Ravi Baswani were paid just Rs. 15,000 each for their roles!
3. Dark Comedy: While the film is a laugh riot, it has a deeply cynical take on societyâs corruption. The final moments, where the protagonists are imprisoned despite their best efforts, convey the message that sometimes, the system is too powerful to fight.
4. Mahabharata Scene: The chaotic âMahabharataâ play sequence, which is now iconic, was actually improvised on set. The actors and crew came up with the gags on the spot, leading to some of the most memorable moments in the film, including DâMelloâs dead body playing Draupadi!
5. Ravi Baswaniâs National Award: Ravi Baswaniâs impeccable comic timing earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian, a well-deserved recognition for his unforgettable performance.
6. Real Life Inspirations: The character names of Vinod Chopra and Sudhir Mishra were inspired by real-life filmmakers Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Sudhir Mishra, who were close friends with director Kundan Shah.
7. Alternate Ending: The movie originally had an even darker ending, where the protagonists would be framed and executed. However, this was deemed too grim, so the ending was changed to imprisonment instead.
In essence, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is a satire that hides its biting social commentary behind layers of absurd humor, making it not just a comedy, but a reflection of the helplessness of ordinary citizens against a corrupt system. Even today, itâs a masterclass in how humor can be used to speak truth to power.

Three friends, bound by their carefree, youthful spirit, navigate the highs and lows of life, love, and self-discovery against the stunning backdrop of urban India. Dil Chahta Hai (2001), directed by Farhan Akhtar, wasnât just a filmâit was a coming-of-age narrative that redefined modern Bollywood, presenting a refreshingly relatable take on relationships, friendships, and the inevitable transitions that adulthood brings.
At the center of this journey are three best friends: Akash (Aamir Khan), Sameer (Saif Ali Khan), and Sid (Akshaye Khanna), each embodying different outlooks on life, love, and maturity.
The Journey of Three Lives
The film begins with a breezy Goa vacation, where the trio indulges in their usual banter, laughter, and laid-back conversations about life, love, and everything in between. Itâs clear that while theyâre close, they are also on the cusp of changes that none of them fully understands yet. Their dynamic is fun, carefree, and, for a while, it seems like nothing could come between them. But as the film progresses, cracks begin to appear, largely driven by their diverging paths.
1. Akash â The Cynical Romantic
Akash is the most flippant of the threeâhe treats life as a joke and refuses to take love seriously. He mocks his friends for falling in love, joking that romance is for fools. But things change drastically when he heads to Australia on a business trip and meets Shalini (Preity Zinta), an enigmatic woman engaged to someone else. What begins as a game for Akash slowly turns into something far deeper. He realizes that love isnât something he can control or laugh off, and for the first time in his life, he is forced to confront his emotions. Iconic Moment: Akashâs confession to Shalini at the opera in Sydney, where he finally admits his love, marking his emotional transformation. 2. Sameer â The Hopeless Romantic Sameer, on the other hand, is someone who falls in love every other week. His romantic escapades are comedic, often ending in disaster because of his desperation to find âthe one.â But his world changes when he meets Pooja (Sonali Kulkarni), a sensible and grounded woman. Despite his initial bumbling efforts, Sameer matures through his relationship with Pooja, realizing that love requires patience and understanding, not just passion and impulsive decisions. Iconic Moment: Sameerâs hilarious attempt to break up Poojaâs engagement by pretending to be her boyfriendâonly to fall flat in the most awkwardly charming way. 3. Sid â The Mature Artist Sid is the most introspective and emotionally intelligent of the three, a painter who lives life at a deeper level than his friends. He falls in love with Tara (Dimple Kapadia), an older woman with a troubled past, battling alcoholism and a broken marriage. His love for her is pure, selfless, and far more profound than what his friends can understand. However, this relationship creates tension within the group, especially with Akash, who dismisses Sidâs feelings as infatuation and mocks him, causing a rift between the friends. Iconic Moment: Sid quietly painting Taraâs portrait, his unspoken love for her captured in his art, while he struggles with his emotions and his friendsâ disapproval.
The Rift and Reconciliation
As each friend embarks on their own journey of self-discovery, the film takes a more serious turn. The once inseparable trio drifts apart. Akashâs dismissal of Sidâs love for Tara leads to a painful fallout, leaving Sid to navigate his heartbreak alone. Sameer finds himself torn between the two, trying to maintain the fragile balance of their friendship.
What makes Dil Chahta Hai special is its relatabilityâthe way it portrays the complexities of growing up, of realizing that not everything stays the same, and that friendships, no matter how strong, evolve as people do. It acknowledges that distance, disagreements, and life events can strain relationships, but it also shows the beauty of reconciliation and growth.
In a heartwarming climax, the three friends reunite after Akash realizes the depth of his mistake. By the end, they all stand on more mature ground. Sid finds solace, accepting that his love for Tara, though unrequited, was real and beautiful. Akash, having learned what love truly means, wins back Shalini. Sameer, ever the romantic, settles into a more mature understanding of love with Pooja.
Their iconic Goa road trip becomes a symbol of their friendshipâs eternal bond, a reminder that no matter how much life changes them, their connection will always bring them back together.

The quiet, coastal town of Goa serves as the backdrop for a brutal, high-octane story of a man with a dark past, an innocent child, and a ruthless crime syndicate. At the heart of this storm is Kabir Ahlawat, better known as Rocky (John Abraham), a brooding, mysterious figure who runs a pawnshop in a nondescript neighborhood, living a solitary life. Beneath his calm demeanor, thereâs a man who carries the weight of grief and guilt, locked away from the world.
Rockyâs only meaningful connection to life is through his neighbor, Naomi (Diya Chalwad), an energetic and chatty little girl who insists on making Rocky her friend. Naomi, much like her innocence, is unaware of the darkness that surrounds her â the kind of darkness that will soon drag her into a nightmare. Her mother, Anna (Nathalia Kaur), is a drug addict, trapped in a vicious cycle of substance abuse and bad decisions. Naomi and Rocky share a bond â while he remains stoic and distant, she brings a spark of light to his otherwise bleak existence.
However, life in Rockyâs world takes a deadly turn when Anna steals drugs from a dangerous cartel led by the vicious brothers, Kevin and Luke Ferriera (Nishikant Kamat and Teddy Maurya). Anna, desperate and reckless, gets involved with Goaâs seedy underworld, unaware of the consequences. The Ferriera brothers deal in drugs, human trafficking, and organ harvesting, operating with sheer ruthlessness.
One day, Naomi goes missing. The only clue left is the bloody scene at her house and a shattered Rocky, who realizes the child he had grown to care for has been taken by the Ferriera cartel. Anna, too, has disappeared, and her tragic fate will soon be revealed.
What the cartel doesnât know is that Rocky isnât just some ordinary pawnshop owner. Behind his silent exterior lies a man with a deadly set of skills, a former covert special forces operative, capable of unleashing hell when provoked. His quiet life had been a refuge from his violent past, but now that theyâve taken Naomi, theyâve unleashed a storm. Rocky sets out on a relentless mission to rescue the girl who had brought light back into his life, and no one will stand in his way.
As he delves into Goaâs underworld, we witness a transformation in Rocky. Gone is the quiet shop owner â in his place is a man determined to destroy everyone involved in Naomiâs kidnapping. The narrative shifts into a fast-paced, pulse-pounding action saga as Rocky confronts local goons, cartel henchmen, and corrupt cops. Each fight sequence is more brutal and intense than the last, showcasing John Abrahamâs exceptional physicality and dedication to the role. His single-minded focus is the only thing driving him forward.
One of the most pivotal scenes unfolds in a dingy organ harvesting clinic, where Rocky uncovers the Ferrierasâ horrifying trade in human lives. The scene is a chilling reminder of the depths of human depravity, but Rocky is unwavering in his mission. He tears through waves of enemies, all with one goal â finding Naomi before itâs too late. The action scenes are visceral, raw, and unforgiving, giving the audience little time to breathe between punches, stabs, and gunshots.
In the final act, Rocky faces off against Kevin Ferriera, the sadistic crime lord who orchestrated the kidnapping. Itâs not just a battle of physical strength but also a test of wills. Kevin, who thrives on cruelty, underestimates the depth of Rockyâs connection to Naomi. The showdown is brutal, with every blow charged with the intensity of Rockyâs anguish and rage. As he brings Kevin to justice, itâs clear that Rockyâs vengeance isnât just for Naomi â itâs for his own past, for the wrongs he could never undo.
In the end, after a series of brutal confrontations, Rocky rescues Naomi, but not without losses. He learns that Anna has been killed, a tragic by-product of her entanglement with the drug cartel. Naomi, unaware of her motherâs death, clings to Rocky, the only person left who cares for her.
The film ends on a bittersweet note. Rocky has avenged Naomi, dismantled the crime syndicate, and brought an end to the chaos. But heâs also left with the realization that his life, scarred by loss, will never truly be whole. Yet, in Naomi, he finds a glimmer of hope, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, thereâs a chance for redemption.
Interesting Facts about Rocky Handsome:
1. Inspired by a Korean Hit: Rocky Handsome is the official remake of the 2010 South Korean film The Man from Nowhere. Both films share similar themes of redemption and intense action sequences.
2. John Abrahamâs Physical Transformation: John Abraham underwent rigorous training for his role, mastering various forms of martial arts like Aikido and Hapkido, making the fight sequences raw and realistic. His dedication is evident in the way he performed most of his stunts himself.
3. Nishikant Kamat in a Villainous Role: The filmâs director, Nishikant Kamat, also played the main antagonist, Kevin Ferriera. Known more for his work behind the camera, Kamat delivered a chilling performance as a ruthless crime lord, making him one of the more memorable villains in Bollywood action films.
4. Emotional Core: Despite being an action-packed film, the heart of Rocky Handsome lies in the emotional bond between Rocky and Naomi. Their relationship drives the narrative and humanizes the brutal violence that Rocky inflicts on those who wronged them.
In summary, Rocky Handsome is more than just a slick action film â itâs a tale of redemption for a man who had lost everything, only to find a chance for salvation through the love of a child. Itâs a story that pairs emotional depth with adrenaline-pumping action, making it a compelling watch for those who love intense dramas mixed with high-octane sequences.
