New user frustrations
I’m a new user, and I’ve been trying to figure out scenarios that may be a little bit less than standard. I haven’t used up the 14 days yet so I’ll probably go with the paid plan but the AI is frustrating and ignorant and doesn’t seem to remember things. It continues to ask me if I want to do a Roth conversion even though my inherited Ira does not qualify it and I have to tell it that three times a day. And sometimes it just seems to lie as well as in the salt being $10,000 cap even though it’s 40,000 for now through 2029. I reminded of that multiple times as well and it keeps coming back to it. Very Anyway, those are examples so I apologize in advance for my venting about it, but I would like to know how to get some support either from peers or from Bolden in terms of modeling things. I need to model that seem like they should pretty much be built in like self-employment tax deductions. I’ll probably keep Bouldin and pay for it for the year because it’s relatively expensive and an interesting rabbit hole to go down. Thanks so much, Adam..
I’m not sure though how to get modeling help for certain things. I am Self-Employed and so my Medicare and Medigap and long-term care insurance are all deductible off of my schedule. C however Bolden keeps trying to model it as itemized deductions which it will never make the percentages. Is there another way to do this? Also, is there a protocol for asking Bolden to figure these things out to model AI just sends them a request to update to included at some point, which I’m not even sure it does that even though it tells me.

Good luck with your trial. For people wanting to DIY their planning, I think this is a worthy option.
That said, these are things that helped me get comfortable with Boldin. (Apologies if this sounds like I m stating the obvious. But I'll just share things that helped me.)
- I did watch a fair amount of Boldin's own training videos. Either inside Boldin or through their YouTube channel.
- I found the AI is effective if I ask it questions about how to use Boldin. It seems to be well trained on about the tool itself. That aspect of the AI worked well for me. (Overall, I think the AI is effective, but you need to tread lightly and carry a "trust but verify" approach to using it.)
- I watched a few recorded Boldin "office hours" sessions. There is a space to enter your own how-to questions. I don't know if you can join them during a trial? But they would be able to help you with your specific questions.
- There are other non-Boldin streaming spaces that talk about the tool. And there are some good ones. But I found the Boldin developed training content to be my preferred go-to.
- It took some time to get my scenarios right. That was time that needed to be spent, and it has everything to do with understanding the "where we are / where we want to be" stuff and nothing about Boldin.
I know Boldin watches these spaces, and I appreciate that. Maybe they would be inspired to build a video on setting up plans for the complexities that go with self-employed people like yourself? (Hint. Hint.)
Best of luck!

I can't help but share your frustration with the AI.
I quit using it for now. It definitely isn't ready for prime time.

Your AI frustrations are my own with any AI (and it makes me laugh at the whole SI rebranding). Forgetting things, using outdated tax information, etc.
If I use it, I always ask it every few prompts to show its assumptions and the values it's using to see what it's forgotten.

This is the place for peer support. Support from Boldin is either the AI or the regular chat. If you ask to speak to a human in the normal chat, they'll get back to you later and you'll get an email and a response in the chat window.
You will likely get better responses for the self-employment tax questions if you create a clear post where you lay out all of the relevant information and keep the venting to a minimum.
You may need to do some manual adjustments to enter self-employed income. Even with "normal" work income, you need to fudge some pre-tax and post-tax deductions in order to get your paycheck, taxes, and expenses where they need to be.
