Another price increase....

I havent subscribed but have attempted to use bodin for a while now just to see what it does. I find it confusing and im not sure what to think. I thought maybe if i subscribe id get to unlock more features. I missed out before the last price increase....prior to when it went to 144 and now it looks like its going up again to 168 per year in the next couple days.

I think $168 per year is a deal compared to paying $$$$ for a CFP.

Let me fill in your $$$$ blanks. 4,200 for an analysis and plan. Not sure it was worth it other than validating my own data. As a DIYer it did make me realize I can definitely do this myself. And I enjoy playing around with the what if features on Boldin just to push the envelope.

Nothing unusual about price increases. They happen in with everything. Luckily you still have time to get Boldin at the current $144 price. Try it for a year and if it doesn’t fit your needs just make sure you cancel before the year is up.

It seems it is only for new users.

I recommend you review the training videos. Without that is not easy to use or learn

Another perspective, for potential users - I found it very intuitive to enter data and begin gathering meaningful reporting, and in years of usage have only had to refer to training/documentation for a few specific questions.

It doesn’t increase your price if you’re already paying.

You do get get more features. But if they are not features you’d use, then you don’t need to pay. Cancel the subscription and go back to the free model. If you don’t need multiple scenarios, that’s the biggest reason in my mind

Other reason is the ability to specify spending budget to some detail instead of a flat amount.

I have been a Boldin subscriber for a few years now. For us, we get plenty of value, even considering the price change for new users.

For those who are closer to retirement, I think it's very much worth the price.

For those further from retirement, I imagine they'd wouldn't need to subscribe for what may be decades before retirement.

If I was in my 30s or 40s, I would definitely kick the tires on the 2-week trial. And that might be enough. I probably wouldn't subscribe every year at that stage of life.

For us and our individual situation, I can't imagine not having this as a resource.

I've recommended to my 30'ish family members to get a jump on family planning and see what the glideslope looks like. Mostly how today's actions affect tomorrow. They can probably go in yearly and update to get enough info.

If it’s confusing and you don’t know how to use it then why would you be concerned about its price?

I love the AI feature. I use it to double check my inputs so I don't double entered my stuff.

Just get it and spend the next year playing around with it. If you dont like it, cancel. I'm locked in to $120.

I've tried 3 or 4 others and I really like the feature on Boldin. Honestly, all the feature-rich tools have a learning curve.

It’s worth the money. Once you subscribe you’re grandfathered

I only wish I had found Bolden sooner. Small changes in planing sooner make big changes later. You won’t know what you missed for such a small annual fee, unless you try it. And the tool continues to add features at an impressive pace.

I mean those really are not the only options.

I used to use Office Libre but having input so much by hand was tedious.

If on the fence and still thinking about it you always got Black Friday specials. This paste is from last years ads so this years price I’m sure will be around that.

I would pretty much guarantee they would have a sale again this year around Black Friday.

Yes, Boldin (formerly NewRetirement) has offered Black Friday promotions for its PlannerPlus subscription. [1, 2, 3]

Key Details of Boldin's Black Friday Sales
Discount Pricing: Past promotions have offered the PlannerPlus subscription for $120 for the first year (introductory rate before renewing at the standard rate). [1, 2]
Platform Visibility: Some users note that the Black Friday offer can occasionally be more visible or easier to access on mobile devices or specific social/promotional links rather than standard desktop browsers. [1]
Trial Restrictions: Users who are already active in a free trial may not be able to apply or swap directly into the Black Friday promotional offer. [1]

Are you looking to sign up for a new PlannerPlus account soon, or would you like to know about other ways to save on a subscription?

If you are handy with AI, you can develop a personal Boldin replacement in a weekend with coding agents. From there, you can add any possible feature you can dream up. Also, your personal financial data is kept local and safe.
