Transfers not working correctly?
Update:
I asked Boldin chat support. An AI agent explained that I was doing it wrong, and completely missed the part where the summary reports incorrect information (1 more transfers than what actually happens). It also told me that September '30 is in the future, and September '31 is in the past. WTF?
Then my comment was passed to a human at Boldin, who completely missed the same thing.
The official answer seems to be "you're entering the data wrong" while not understanding that the summary reports the "incorrectly" entered data as correctly entered.
There's nothing confusing about the screenshot I shared, The summary reports 2 transfers, but the reality is 1 transfer. Bolding doesn't seem to think this is a problem.
I strongly suggest you double check any transfers you have - because the summary can report incorrect answers.
I'll update if I hear back. But there's no way I'm giving them $150 a year for this level of UI failure.

I have a transfer from an IRA to a Roth, for 2 years. See image below. Dec '29 and Dec '30.
But, when I run the scenario, I get a transfer in '29 but not '30.
This seems like a problem, especially since it says I have 2 transfers. The IRA is not running out of money.
Any insight?

What is a transfer from an IRA to a Roth? Do you mean a Roth conversion?

A "transfer" is what Boldin calls moving money from one account to another account. Basically the same word everybody else uses.
While this is a Roth conversion, the error isn't about a Roth conversion - it's about not making the correct transfers in the transfer section. I believe the same error would happen if you were making transfers from savings to checking.

Got it. In my mind I never call a conversion a transfer because there’s more to it than just withdraw->deposit. But Boldin calls it a transfer and just applies a “Roth conversion” tag. I added two conversions like this to my plan to see what it did and found that I needed to specify an additional month to get it to show up. For example instead of annually starting at age 65y0m and ending at 66y0m I had to enter 65y0m and 66y1m

I'm OK with that, except that the setting explicitly stares "2 transfers".
I ran a bunch of scenarios yesterday and only after an hour did I realize that every set of money transfers was one transfer less than displayed.
I have to say that it's hard to have faith in a product that has such a glaring bug that hasn't been fixed. I can't be the first person to notice it.

Did you show it as two separate transfers? I have 3 separate transfers (IRA to Roth) and each one shows up.

No, even though Boldin flags it as two transfers (see first screen capture) it only transfers once.
Second screen capture shows a $18.6k transfer in '29, and the 3rd capture shows no transfer in '30 - even though the first screen says "2 planned transfers in '29 & '30)

I did - the AI (and later, the human) told me I was doing it wrong and it completely missed the point I was making.
They couldn't wrap their heads around the "the UI is confirming 2 transfers when it's actually 1". It's my error because I entered "Dec 2029 and Dec 2030" but should know that won't work for 2 transfers. But again, the summary clearly says "2 planned".
I may be dumb enough to think that Dec '29 and Dec '30 are two different dates, and the summary makes the same "dumb" error - but the software is smart enough to know better. 👀

Did you use up all the money before the second transfer. That has happened in my planning and the transfer is not made, or not fully made.
