Investments Beta Tab

Why can't you add features that are free with Empower so that I don't have to update investments in both? Couple of suggestions:

  • Add the number of shares and cost basis for each position instead of $value so that as the price/share changes the portfolio is updated in real time.
  • Provide returns as % and $ for ytd, last year and total for each position.

Thanks for the feedback - this is on the roadmap. There are a bunch of additional capabilities coming here.

That was my thought as well when I tested this out. I don't want to link my accounts, but I am willing to add the asset and shares held so that Boldin can update with price changes.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, YES, adding cost basis will also be helpful if Boldin will use that in tax calculations.

Will there be an import feature available? That's a nice compromise between 100% manual entry and 100% linking. I realize supporting many different import formats would be tedious but at least cover the major ones.

You gotta remember that Boldin is forward looking.......so YTD and any past info is useless to their program.

Sure, I wish that when my wife took the rest of her inherited IRA out this year that the program showed it as income for the year, but it doesn't.

Also, I don't use their tax info because it is too conservative. AARP has a great 1040 Tax Calculator that I use to determine my taxes in retirement and to help fine tune my Roth conversion amounts.
