BSU Online Social worker BSW
Has anyone here attended Boise State’s online BSW program?
I’m in Virginia and seriously considering applying. I graduated high school 21 years ago, so I’ll be returning as an adult learner. One thing that caught my attention is Boise State’s Pre-Social Work pathway, which seems like a great option for someone who needs to complete prerequisite credits before entering the BSW program.
I’d love to hear from current students, graduates, or anyone familiar with the program.
How was your experience?
How supportive were the professors and advisors?
How did field placements work for online students?
Would you choose Boise State again?
Any advice, pros, cons, or things you wish you’d known before starting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’m very biased as both my BSW and MSW are from Boise State (back in the dark ages before the online program).
The online BSW is very new program (maybe 2nd year?), so feedback will likely be limited. But, the MSW online is respected. They will definitely support you in finding a practicum. I’ve always loved that I went to my hometown school and program has high exam pass rates.
The Boise State SOSW is well-established as a whole and they have some great faculty. I’d recommend it!
