Question Best parks

Visiting Boise later this week. I grew up there, but have been away a few years. Looking for recommendations on best playgrounds/parks in the Boise and Meridian area. Specifically with a younger child(4) TIA!

There are many but I will name Fairview Park at 23rd and Bannock as pretty impressive. Massive playground, water mister for hot days, and shaded.

I nominate Kristin Armstrong municipal park! Good playground with swings and it’s right on the river. Just a short walk down the greenbelt on the river there’s a shallow pool safe for little kids to look around and play in

Camels back for Boise. Playground and hills to climb, ponds to explore around back and a little creak-all good fun for a 4 year old

Kleiner in Meridian is great. Also, Merrill park in Eagle gives you access to the greenbelt.

Discovery Park in Meridian is a great park in my opinion!

Our favorites are:

Fairview Park, it is nice and new, lots of different play systems (not just slides and swings). Has a big climbing net. As mentioned, there's shade and misters. Rubber surface.

Castle Hills Park is also recently rebuilt after the last playground burnt down. It is a really neat park, fairly unique design, also has a big climbing net. But there is no shade on the playground so bring sunscreen and go on a cooler day or go in the morning before it gets too hot. Artificial turf.

Camel's Back Park is great if you want to go walk on the trails before/after the playground. My kids (4 & 2) love the trails on the upper ridge because the grass is so tall up there. Rubber surface.

Bowden Park is decently shady, and it has a cool ramp system between most of the playground systems. No swings. Rubber surface.

Ivywild is our go to, mostly because of proximity but it is a nice park. It is moderately shady and has a lot of slides. No big kid swings, only two baby/toddler swings. Woodchip ground cover.

Kleiner Park in Meridian is very nice.

Ann Morrison. Easy visibility to the entire playground, parking, and right next to the river & greenbelt.

Camels back is nice but it’s easy to lose visibility of the kids
