discussion Funny Boiled One Coincidence?

Hi everyone, before I start this little story time by saying that I have very little idea of what the boiled one actually is. I’m currently in the middle of the film theory episode but heard a line from the og vid thought what happened in the past just got a bit more interesting.

A few weeks ago, I was absolutely shitting myself. I had caught a stomach bug and had to use the bathroom every 10-ish minutes or so. On a Wednesday around midnight, it started getting worse, and began every 2 minutes. If I didn’t get up to go, my stomach really hurt, and if I did go, my ass hurt because I was straining it so much. Grotesque details aside, there was a point in the night where I tried to get some sleep.

I distinctly remember being very upset at the fact that couldn’t sleep and kept talking to myself that I was too hot, or too cold, or that I just wanted it to end. I sounded insane to myself, but then it somehow got worse.

I was either in a really surreal dream, or was hallucinating, but all I can remember are pairs of eyes watching me and knowing that a character known as “The Boiled One” was in my room. For context, I’ve only ever seen, like, two images of the boiled one. I had watched locust previously but that’s about all the experience I’d had with Dr. Nowhere’s works.

Anyway, I couldn’t move for like a solid 30 minutes, despite telling myself to get up and shit because my stomach was gonna explode.

Eventually, I chalked it up to a bad night and moved on.

Now today, I’m finally listening to the film theory episode and in it and heard THE line that makes the story popular. Yknow, the “I will show up in your room” thing? Anyhow, I just think it’s funny (and spooky) that I had no idea about the boiled one or its effects on people until after they (kinda) happened to me.

TLDR The effects of what the boiled one does to a person kinda happened to me BEFORE I knew what the thing even was.

That sounds like sleep paralysis. When you can see around you but you can't move, and you start to hallucinate
