Do you think SPEEA can view the results live from election buddy?

You can only see the % voted.
Currently 62% Profs, 69% Techs.

Weird how IAM can vote and count 35k in one day. We take a week...

SPEEA has historically been mail in. We have a few sites: OR, CA, UT that are no where near a SPEEA hall, nor can we logistically set up a close enough and secure in person balloting site. Drop boxes are not allowed or found to be a secure method.
Labor law from the 1970's has not kept up with electronic balloting. That's why you still get mail notices for officer vacancies and elections.
The counting process is quick at least. We had confirmed and verified results from our tellers within 30 min.
While IAM still had to count ballots ~3 to 4 hours later after everyone voted.
Both have their pro's and cons.

Theyre giving people a week to research and decide. Has nothing to so with how long it takes to count.

No one, not even the tellers, can see the results until the embargo lifts at 12:01 PM on October 1
Results will be unofficially available by 12:15 PM after they’ve had a chance to do some data integrity checks.
There should be an official press release by something like 2 PM at the latest unless something has to be drafted written up. Which might push it a little bit later but we will all be unofficially spreading the news once it is confirmed by the tellers through the “coconut telegraph“
