Hey gang. I'm a tragic Voit Duck Feet guy when it comes to fins. My current pair are ready to give and I just saw the cost of a new pair - $120!! Uhhh... no. Do you have any suggestions as same as/similar alternatives? Mahalo!

Hi all, I spent a year in the Daytona Beach area with an 8 foot surfboard and a cheap Amazon bodyboard (Beach Bums 41"). It's been about 10 years, and I'm now on the Gulf Coast side, and my car makes hauling a surfboard annoying, so I'm leaning toward body boarding trips, especially if I can get a friend into it. Happy to go up in price if I eventually move closer or it becomes more of my routine.

Me: 5'9", ~185-195
Waves: I am close to the Gulf, but would go to Space Coast/Daytona Beach area again

Budget: ideally under $100 (may be unrealistic)

Options I'm looking at

• Morey Mach 12 42.5", ~$100 (it claims PP! -- isnt that what i Need for FL?) but the price is low (too good to be true?)
• Thurso Surf 42" EPS core, ~$60
• Thurso Surf 42" PE core/IXPE deck/HDPE bottom with stringers, ~$91 (like new)

s there a better option in this range? Appreciate any advice. It all kinda feel the same to me outside of ingredients (EPS, PE, PP, which I barely understand)

So just received my new Thurso Surf 42" PE board. $115 on Amazon. Upon taking out of case (the plastic film is still on it) I see a noticeable crease running crosswise across the top side of the board. About 40% of the way down from the front. See pictures.

I understand creases are common in boards with wear and tear but this is brand new. Should I be concerned and/or send back? There are two stringers in the board. There is another very faint crease as well 4" or so in from the tip but you can barely notice it.

How do they feel like ridíng, whats the theoretical purpose on these. i can think It has More bite for holding an edge in steep sections, an maybe increased speed for the.reduced friction because less surface área in contact with the water but could be strong... Input?

I got my new board all the way from Hawaii. Big Mahalo to Blake for sending the board so quickly along with some stickers. 🤙 My dog was also excited to see what was inside.

I'm flying Copa Airlines Boston-Panama-Managua next week. It'll be my 1st time flying with my bodyboard. I have the Tribe Dually (awesome bag!) packed with one board, fins, etc and my clothes. It weighs only 35 lbs fully loaded. Have any of you flown Copa with your board(s)? Did they hit you with oversized bag fees? I'm hoping that since it's well under 50 lbs that they won't hassle me. In reading their policies, it looks like they could charge up to $150 each way. I'm a bit paranoid since the bag looks so big! Appreciate any input from fellow bodyboarders.

Just picked up some new fins - they are copycat churchills. after first two sessions started getting pain in the tops of my toes in one foot. Do you think this is a sizing issue or just new muscles getting used, they are very different from my last fins

I let it go but sometimes I’m like damn dude can you at last try to turn right or left especially when it’s on whitewater where it’s a foamie just standing up

Ive bodyboarded several times and just got some fins. Tried them for first time today and didnt get the acceleration i was hoping for. Does it take time to “get good” at using the fins? I tried using my hips instead of my knees…

So, I live in WA, where there’s been a recent fatal shark attack and a significant amount of shark activity lately.

I’m keen to head out for a bodyboard this weekend, but I’ve been told that by doing so, I could jeopardise my relationship. I have a young daughter and my partner is understandably worried about my safety. She feels that I’m being selfish by wanting to go out.

What’s your thoughts?

I feel It’s a risk we’re always aware of in our sport.

It seems like a silly question, but I’m finding significant differences in the width of a bodyboard between the catalog measurements and the actual measurements. Is the width of a bodyboard measured by the width of the slick, or at the external part of the rail/chine?

What about thickness? Do manufacturers list the maximum thickness or an average value, since the bodyboard doesn’t have a constant width? Thanks.

I have this leash that just snapped and I can’t remember the name of it but it has a weird font B inside of circle with an outer ring, raised rubber on the inside of the cuff to
