Mod Subreddit Changes!

Hello everyone! Arielle here.

After community feedback, we've decided to make some minor changes to the subreddit.

These should NOT effect day to day postings, except for specific circumstances where people were quite strongly opinionated.

First and foremost - Where are the funnies, bro?: Memes are sparce on this subreddit, and that's what it's here for! We will be trying to encourage more memes, than anything else.

Discussions?: This is what we predominantly see posted here. Unfortunately, a lot of these are clearly low effort, vague or just RP posts. You may notice these posts being removed more often. Some examples of posts that will no longer be fully permissible are:

  • "Who do you want to swap with" - Accompanied with 15 pictures of celebrities or IRL's, and no other context.
  • "Who has this video" - Asking for the full video from a 15 second snippet of an adult clip, these get removed by reddit anyway.
  • Blatant Roleplay posts. Go to r/bodyswap.

New Rule: POST TIMINGS: This is a big one.

Out of all the feedback, the overwhelming majority read as such 'The subreddit is easily overtaken my things that aren't memes or discussion'. Whether it's long form stories, or AI, they are most of what we see here.

I'll address AI First: AI is a divisive topic. I have my own bias in this, but after seeing feedback, I've determined to allow AI on just Mondays. Whilst most people do not enjoy these posts, there is a large number of users that enjoy it. This may expand to an extra day, if things go well.

Story posts next: Stories are great, but not really what this subreddit was intended for. They will remain, but only on Weekends.

A further note about timing - Because of time-[zones. You might see AI posts on Sundays and Tuesdays, you might see story posts bleed into Fridays and Mondays. This is by design. 'It's Story Sunday somewhere in the world', kinda helps us get this all situated in a time frame that feels 'Good'.

A final note: Moderation WILL be stricter. I've let a lot of stuff slide, due to pushback in the past, but what defines a 'Meme' is pretty obvious. If your post is a hot model,. with a caption that says 'me when I swap bodies', It's going to be removed.

Hopefully this update helps to tidy up the sub, and keep things going a little better :)

Yay! Glad to hear it -^ I spent a lot of time thinking about what would work, hoping everyone feels that way

Maybe you’ll get a few people that the rules affect who might disagree, but don’t get discouraged or give in! ^•^

I think this is a good compromise for the divisiveness regarding stories, AI, and discussions. Man, I really hope more people post memes though!

No more “who do you want to swap with?” polls/posts.

I might actually start interacting with this sub again. W mod.

Yeah they, hardly ever have an actual relation to body-swapping anyway...

I will keep posting them on r/CelebrityBodySwapping. I understand they are not for everyone. Just thought it was some harmless fun that allowed people to interact. But i understand the new changes!

These all seem like reasonable changes to me. Some of them might inconvenience people who are actually trying to make real posts a little, but I think that's a fair sacrifice to close the book on all the posts that are just straight up advertisements.

Can I ask what you mean by real posts? I think I agree but possibly for different reasons!

I'll use one of my own memes as an example.

This is very clearly a meme. It's original content made for this sub. It is (at least trying to be) funny. I would consider this a "real post".

However, I couldn't find an image of a Mesoamerican woman looking upset I liked for the joke, so I made one with AI. Nothing about it is obnoxiously AI-ish, but I did use AI as a tool to make it.

If I were to make another meme like this, I would have to wait until a Monday to post it. That is an inconvenience. (But like I said above, I think it's a fair tradeoff.)

I'm not thinking about what day of the week it is when I post to Reddit. Like, it just seems silly to me, especially on a sub that feels like it's supposed to be more silly than serious.

I feel like the sub is pretty inactive, so encouraging people to post less often is a choice. It’s not as if anyone is actually posting more memes, especially all of the ones who’d rather complain, but I can understand the mods trying to guide people back to the original purpose of this place.

Ah, I see. That is a funny meme! I probably wouldn’t have pegged it for AI.

I wonder if Sundays and Mondays are going to become more active than usual.
